When commissioner Roger Goodell conditionally reinstated Jones successfully navigated his way through OTAs, and even got some first-team reps at cornerback, but the most difficult part of the NFL calendar could be the three weeks of down time between the end of mandatory offseason workouts and the start of training camp later this month. So far, so good.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Clarence Hill writes that while Terrell Owens and Tank Johnson are taking advantage of the short vacation, Jones is doing his best to avoid the social scene. "[Jones] has remained in Dallas. He was spotted in the equipment room Tuesday and exchanged pleasantries with a reporter on his way to the locker room."
Owner Jerry Jones ... acknowledges there are no guarantees. But he said he likes what he has seen from Adam Jones so far.For all the talk that Adam Jones didn't deserve another chance because he'd just screw it up, he sure seems to be embracing the whole "hard-working, law-abiding citizen" role. If he's truly changed, that's great news for the Cowboys, their fans, and, well, everybody but Willie Andrews, who probably played his last NFL game in February.
"Yes," Jerry Jones said emphatically when asked if Adam Jones has done everything right up to this point. "He is very committed. He is very committed physically and mentally. He is smart. He recognizes his challenge and he is really doing well."

"Adam" has a lot of on field talent and with enough discipline could be an outstanding player. But Jerry, smart? I doubt that you could find anybody outside of his family who would ever characterize him as smart.
I'd bet the farm that 99% of all 5th graders are smarter than he is. Was he actually able to enroll in a college? The high school that graduated him should be torn down. I'd like to see his wonderlic score.

Agree with Jeff. Apparently, Al has an axe to grind. Jerry bought the Cowboys for around 140 million dollars about 20 years ago. The franchise is worth close to a billion dollars now. We should all be so dumb. He gave up only a fourth rounder for the Pacman so if it doesn't work, so what. Potentially, the Pacman deal has the chance to be one of the greatest steals of all time.

As a Browns fan,I love Jerry Jones. He seems to be the only other guy in the league that will trade with us on draft day.As a result,we have been able to consistently move up in the draft,to get the players we covet to rebuild our expansion team.(Brady Quinn,Eric Wright,Martin Rucker, etc.)Savage and Jones have a friendly relationship, and I hope the trades work out for both teams.

"He is smart" - Jerry Jones on Donkey Kong Jones
Everything is relative. Compared to a lot of the other people in that organization....

It is entirely possible to be rich and stupid at the same time.

I think Jerry Jones had made yet another stupid move by even not only trading for Adam Jones but even thinking about it . Adam has shown he has his problems . I mean for goodness sake he shot someone. I think Adam Jones should be forced out of the league and not be allowed to play anymore in the NFL.
