The Tennessee Titans LOVE running backs. They've used a first- or second-round pick the last three drafts on the position (LenDale White, '06; Chris Henry, '07; Chris Johnson, '08 -- Mr. Kige was stupefied no that last one, by the way ... I think), and they're still not done. J.J. mentioned that Tennessee briefly considered Ron Dayne earlier this offseason, and now, they could again be in the Kevin Jones business.
Former Lions running back Kevin Jones, trying to come back from an ACL injury, is scheduled to work out for pro scouts later this month.I think Henry and 'Adam' Jones have soured the Titans on knuckleheaded players with skillz. Probably a smart move.
The Titans are among the teams interested in Jones, who visited Baptist Sports Park earlier this offseason, but don't look for them to get in the mix for former Bronco Travis Henry or former Bear Cedric Benson.
Jones, on the advice of his agent*, says he "feels great" and feels like he is "ready to play right now". The Titans are looking for depth behind their three young backs, so Tennessee might not be the right situation for the Lions former first-round pick. Ideally, he'd like to get a shot at more playing time, and presumably a starting job. That could happen in Tennessee, I guess, but there are other teams with fewer players on the depth chart between Jones and the field.
But who knows, maybe the Titans will move Johnson to wideout and Jones can share touches with White and Henry.
* not really

As a Titans fan, i have to say im disappointed in everyone they've picked since last season. I liked the Vince Young and Lendale White picks, but Lendale White is the best running back we have and he's not the break out player i'd thought he'd be, and as far as Vince, yes, he also hasnt lived up to the hype built around him, but compared to where Steve McNair, Jay Cutler, and Matt Leinhart are right now, i think we have the best option out of all those! Im cool with Ron Dayne, but the rest of them choices sux! I dont care for Jones, and the Titans definitely wasted picks on Johnson and Henry, cause one of them is eventually going to be a draft bust, or both of them plus White will be as well, only time will tell! What they should've done is cut or trade Chris Henry, keep Lendale but make him a third back, and gotten Julius Jones from Cowboys and moved up to draft Felix Jones from Arkansas, if they desperately wanted a running back out of the draft. or they should've at least gotten Julius and gotten a top wide reciever in the draft! Im just so disgusted with how the Titans are getting their players! They have the money, they need to spend it! Bringing back old players, picking up guys in the draft that may be sparklers for a moment in workouts, and picking up players that they hope is a diamond in the wrath, is not going to get this team anywhere! Especially when they are being led by a predictable coach that only does good enough to keep his job! I think Vince Young has the potential to be a great quarterback, but he needs the talent surrounding him, and that includes a talented coach that can spot talent, not just wish for it!
