Former Chargers offensive tackle Shane Olivea, a free agent who once looked like one of the league's most promising offensive linemen, is currently without a team. Even if he signs with a team, he can't play until he serves a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. And although the league doesn't give specifics about past indiscretions, it's clear that whatever triggered this four-game suspension isn't the first time Olivea screwed up. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports:
All the Chargers would say when they released him in February was that Olivea had seemed to lose his motivation. But those around the team have known for some time that Olivea partied himself out of the league.Acee also reports that Olivea is getting help. I hope it works. Olivea is only 26 years old and still has talent, even if, so far, that talent has gone to waste.

Bucs? No way, I am sure that drug ring and walking talking rehab program in Dallas would jump at the chance to have another doped up criminal on the team.

These guys just don't get it. They see the money and forget why they got it. It is way too much and they lose control of themselves through false self importance. These guys are too young to be responsible and so many end up with nothing. It's almost as if they should have trust funds and nannies looking after them.So many are SO irresponsible!
Dallas, those losers, sounds like a good place. He can hang out with that great role model Pacman.

The Bucs take a few troubled players but its the Oakland Raiders that take the insane, the self destructive, and the locker room brawlers. Shane should fit right in with the Raiders. The Raiders cant win a game but they make a nice living luring criminals into Oakland stadium where the police can pic them up.

Well, here we go again. There is just something about these prima donna sports figures. They get famous and a great chance to be somebody people will look up to and then this. They turn into just another piece of crap loser that nobody cares about. They can't handle their money, use drugs, get into fights, break the law, and just generaly become an embarassment, kinda sound like ordinary run of the mill criminals who are paid a lot of money huh?

Uh Michael...it is JERRY JONES not JIMMY JONES...if your going to slam a team at least know who and what you are talking about. And yeah we have hired some people you would call losers and thugs but wow, they seem to straighten out once they come to Dallas, hmmmmm I wonder if it could be because they were surrounded by trouble and when they come here they are in a little better atmostphere? I dreaded when TO came here but I have come to enjoy watching him play. No more trouble from Tank and Pacman is trying to shake his bad boy image and changing his name back to Adam and dropping the Pacman moniker. We are looking toward a great season.

Dallas, "A Great Season",,,,,,,,,,,LOL, just watch and see how bad a season your going to have there. You won't even win your division. And by the way, Romo is the most over rated QB ever. What has he ever done??? Dallas will take this guy, they take anyone with baggage, and it will all bite them in the azz this year. Watch that team fall apart this year.

The Lions! The Lions! He must go to Detroit. He'll do great there! no playoff pressure to contend with. Top pay for weak, inconsistent performances; and he can party all he wants to with Kwame.

If he has done what he is accused of, he deserves the punishment he received. I have no doubt that if Shane had been black, though still deserving the punishment, he would already be on a team (though NOT the Chargers) & the suspension waived.
