Jason Taylor wants to leave the Miami Dolphins for a team he thinks has a shot at the Super Bowl. The Green Bay Packers are coming off a 13-3 season and are looking to improve their pass rush. The Green Bay Press Gazette reports (via PFT) that the Packers have contacted the Dolphins about an agreement that would make Taylor a Packer. Robert Nunn, one of the Packers' defensive assistants, made clear he'd like for it to happen:
"Anytime you can get a guy of that caliber, you'd want to try to get him," said Nunn, who was with the Dolphins from 2000 to 2002. "But I don't get involved in anything like that.Packers coach Mike McCarthy has said he wants the defense to be more aggressive in getting after the quarterback, and adding Taylor would certainly be a good way to do that. Still, the Dolphins seem intent on getting a first- or second-round draft pick for Taylor, and that may be a higher price than the Packers will pay.
"All I know is that when I coached him, he was a great football player and a great person. I hope it works out for him because he's had such a great career, and I'd hate to see it end on a bad note in the public's eye. The guy is such an outstanding individual and a great football player, and I just hope for the best for Jason and hope it ends well, and he's able to compete for a Super Bowl."

I have to believe that the Dolphins will keep Taylor unless Greenbay gives up a 1st or 2nd round pick. If I were Greenbay, I would request that Taylor plays for two more years instead of one. I love Taylor and I would love to see him stay here in Miami but that is being selfish on my part because I would also love to see him go to a team that has a chance to win a Super Bowl.
