The Super Bowl will kickoff in about 26 hours but the story isn't how the Giants will stop Tom Brady and the Patriots, its about Spygate. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell punished New England five months ago and we haven't heard much about it since. Until yesterday. And now, it's everywhere.
After hearing the latest allegations, ESPN's Steve Young is pretty lathered up:
"When Michael Smith spoke yesterday -- and I don't think that story is apocryphal, I think it was something he had heard from a prominent coach who had talked to another prominent coach after Tom Brady had carved them up on Monday night [football].Luckily, Sean Salisbury brings some much-needed respectability to the proceedings when he points out that as of now, this story is built on "ifs." But it gets better:
And he said, 'Hey, look, I'm sorry I didn't warn you. [The Patriots] steal your signals.' And then the other coach saying, 'Oh my Gosh, no wonder; you can't guess right every time. I've never seen that before, that makes complete sense.'"
"Let me give you another 'if'. It's as 'If' our government doesn't have bigger problems than THIS? ... And all yous guys have done is irritate the Patriots another time. They'll probably hang 50 on 'em on Sunday..."Wow. It's hard to imagine Salisbury sounding dumber than usual, but he manages to pull it off here. So kudos on that. (By the way, I think Salisbury would be much more credible if he would just yell all the time.)
Oh, and be sure to catch the dude that just has to be on television around the 2:30 mark. Never seen a guy on his cell phone try to get in on a live shot and then wave! Compelling.

Right, SS sounds stupid to you, but Steve Young, repeating allegations that he heard from the friend of a friend, who had no real evidence of this actually happening, sounds fine to you. I repeat sounds fine to YOU. Not surprising. But when you say stuff like that, YOU don't look like anything more than either an ignorant hater, or just a hater. I am not sure which, since I don't know you. But I heard from a friend, who says he knows you, that you are an ignorant hater. That sounds "impactfuller" than even Young's astute use of the language.

Do the Patriots steal your signals or still your signals?
Second paragraph (still); you have to do better than that.

so at the end isn't salisbury calling tom brady's career a traveshamockery? he says HE could've made the HOF if he played games with the edge that brady supposedly has.

joe wallace,
When in doubt, always side with Sean Salisbury. You can't go wrong with that philosophy.

Ryan,
I can understand your apparent inability to grasp the "main idea" of a paragraph.
I don't give a rat's tail about SS. I am not even saying he speaks the truth. What I am saying is YOU impugned the intelligence of one person, based upon his statement, which is his opinion, and yet, in the process, showed the world what you really think by giving Young's statement a pass, without criticism. I have been trying to get you to admit your bias all year, and you refuse. But it doesn't matter, because when you write things like this it is obvious. You just don't have the balls to admit it. When you do, I will give you credit for at least revealing the bias. As long as you don't, and write things like this, you are just a hypocrite.

Nice investigative work, Bob Woodward. Maybe you should use your skills to get to the bottom of Spygate so we can all quit talking about it.

If you have a good Qback and a good coach, WHY do you need to cheat??????

Steve Young has been on the Pats about this all year.
He is no Joe Montana and he certainly is no Tom Brady so all he does is bring up this crap. He did not have a perfect team, so he does not want Brady to have one either.
What if they have videos of JFK and Marilyn Monroe?
Who cares, Arlen? How about the Senate paying attention to the economy instead of NFL videos.

No secret you have no love for the Patriots, Ryan? You never start your blogs with that statement. Don't give me a hyperlink to prove your point. YOU are the writer here, I just comment on it. It's YOUR job, last time I checked. You pretend to be a journalist, then go out of your way to trash one team. Those dupes that can't see through it get all riled up, but now you finally reveal it, after eighteen weeks of pretending tha you just report it. And yes, you did say that.
How pathetic. I am not Bob Woodward, because it's not my job to be. What's YOUR poor excuse?

"You pretend to be a journalist..."
Really? Where? In case you haven't noticed, this is AOL FanHouse, a collection of blogs. None of FanHouse's writers claim to be journalists.
And you really think I should make a disclaimer at the top of every post that I'm not a Pats fan? Great idea.
For someone who spends a lot of time commenting on this site, you sure do have trouble keeping up.

Let's see here......the Pats steal team's signals, and the teams know the Pats steal their signals.
So if the Pats are stealing signals and the teams know the Pats are stealing their signals are the Pats really stealing their signals?

Ryan, I caught up with you in week two.
Got the balls to go one-on-one on a blog with me? You seem to be doing it now, and the world sees that I am kicking your ass.
I am calling you out. Step up, or step off. Your little insults, calling me names, but not refuting the evidence I bring to the table, is showing how weak you are.
Bring it on, dude. You and I.

Steve Young will always be second to Joe Montana forever, an after thought. He just cannot stand it. He loves digging on the Pats so he does not sink further into the "show cares" category on his NFL career.
I think the "new" accusations are not new as the NFL stated today, This guy, Walsh appears to have serious attention issues and since the hatred is so high against the Patriots, what should have some form of journalistic integrity "joke" turns into Entertainment Tonight. No proof, suspicious motives from Walsh who sounds like he wants someone to pay him for his story, just read the ESPN story. He states "And he wondered aloud what might be in it for him" and "well, OK. At the end of the day, what did I get out of it? "
This guys is hungry for attention and money, it is os obvious.

i agree with joe wallace..... ryan wilsons blog is clearly biased from the get go..... completely unnecessary .........steve young is obviously vindictive and has been so all year, it appears he has had some personal issues with bill billichick in the past and never got over it...... when you are the best at ANYTHING.... people will always be gunning for you... that is the nature of sports especially at this level.....
i also disagree that sean salisbury sounds stupid here.... he seems to be making perfectly clear points..... IF IF IF.... 'if my aunt had balls...she'd be the emperor of china'
the senate getting involved????? .... farcical

Steve Young is a whiney little wench!! I am sick if this. All year long he has tried to rip the Pats! Enough of this friend of a friend of a friend crap. Or did your magic Mormon underwear tell you this was true. I know for a FACT the Niners cheated by ignoring the salary cap for over a decade, if you want to start an investigation Steve start there!
