(If you don't know why you are here, please go back to the launch page for What Kind of Pats Hater Are You?)
If ego and hubris offend you, Belichick supplies plenty of ammo. And yeah, it's easy to dislike someone with those qualities. Yet if he isn't a part of our lives; why does he bother us so?
Because he rails against the sanctities of something we hold far more sacred than our own lives: the NFL. Not only does he cheat, he'd cheat if you were right there watching him do it. While he was at it, he'd run up the score, send out Rodney Harrison to shank your favorite team's quarterback, and then key their bus.
But it's his ego probably helps to make him such a great coach.
So, yeah, your hatred of the Patriots is completely justified. Be proud. But the point's moot. You can hate as much as you want, your opinion certainly doesn't matter to him. Nor to the NFL, which is going to keep making insane money off his success. But you can still hope that somehow, some way, someone will dent the guy's ego.
Judgment: You are an Utterly Inconsequential Patriots Hater.
And if you're a rational person, you're OK with that. Hatred, like a small wager, can make the game more interesting.

Not to take anything away from his coaching ability, the bothersome thing is how the NFL loooked the other way when he was caught red-handed. Then he issued a smug apology, saying he misinterpreted the rules, when the rule specifically stated not to do exactly what he did. There's no doubt in my mind that the NFL wanted the undefeated ride to continue, to boost seasonal ratings, etc. The NFL is looking more like the NBA, where the bigger stars and stories are given the pass, even though they're the ones committing the foul. I'm already anticipating some strange calls in favor of the Pats in the Super Bowl if the game is close towards the end.

He thinks he is above the rules and the commissioner appears to be a friend and totally ignores and hides the problem from the public.

I'm with you, Husk. The NFL and their officials are biased beyond belief. There are certain teams you know when you play them are going to get away with murder while your team suffers. It could be that the NFL and officials hate your team, it could be they unjustifyably love the other team or both. I, as a die-hard Steelers fan, deal with the officials screwing us over when we play those loved teams. We were treated poorly ever since the incident between the official with the horrible call and Cowher shoving the picture in his pocket. And the new issue of the turf problems. The Redskins get an apology from the NFL after nearly every game b/c of poor judgment by the officials. This stuff shouldn't happen. I guarantee the Steelers, Redskins, Green Bay, etc. bring more money from loyal fans into the NFL than those Cowboys, Patriots, Colts, etc. that get their butts kissed for nothing. Those teams only bring in spurts of money when the team does well. It's not a consistent following. The NFL needs to be unbiased, period.

one coment to the steelers fan. u don't have to deal with anything. the refs gave u a superbowl victory a few years ago becasue boo hoo bettis was in his home town for the last game of his career. and don't say the refs didn't because the seahawks out played them in every aspect of the game and had 2 touchdowns taken away from rediculous penalties being called that even the announcers were suprised by the calls

There are plenty of ways to cheat and I'm sure he's going to use them all in order to win. I wonder how much he'll be paying the refs at the super bowl? especially since he can definitly afford it. I dont care how well his team is doing, as long as he's the coach, he's forever singed the rep of the pats. It completely disgusts me that he got away with what he did so easily, at the least he should have been suspended for several games. It's time the NFL rethink the consequences of cheating and other inappropriate actions made by a team.

The Pats have consistently broken the rules (Illegally jamming the Colts receivers in the playoffs a few years back which wasn't called and now is religiously and the recent filming incident). Winning a all costs no matter what is not a rule of life that I nor my family live by.
Further, going back to the redicious tuck rule game against the Raiders this team seems to always slide by.
Typically when teams get caught cheating they are punished by forfiting a game or games. At least the Dolphins undefeated record was totally clean. The 2007-2008 Patriots are the Barry Bonds of football.

This may very well be the understatement of the century. But if you ask me, I would say that the new decree of the NFL, as well as all sports should be, "It's only cheating if the Patriots arent the ones doing it!" Or even better yet, "All is fair in love, war, and Patriot's games!"
And I would love for anyone to tell me why I am wrong.

Husk,
what are you talking about? The NFL didn't look the other way because they wanted the pats to go undefeated for ratings. IT WAS THE FIRST GAME!! No one had any idea that they would have a perfect season. Know you stuff before you make a comment.

When a kid is caught cheating in school, they're flunked, suspended, or expelled. What happened with this football team sends an entirely wrong message. These are the people kids copy and look up to. This sent the message they can do whatever they want and nothing will happen.

He and the team weren't punished enough. There was no talk about forfeiting past games, which I feel, should at least been discussed.

It is really easy to have a perfect season when you cheat to get it. Big deal, the guy had to pay a fine. Last I heard, it will be a tax write off for him as well. He should have been fired from his job and the season should have been stripped from them. If I close my eyes really tight, the NFL is really starting to look like the NBA. Go Giants...And I am a Bears fan!

Casey, the Steelers fan, has no business whining about bad calls. The only reason Cowher has a ring is because the refs stole it from the Seahawks and gave it to him.

He shouldn't have been coach of the year... He got caught cheating and got away with it. take last year, Merriman got caught using steroids and didn't get the defensive player of the year award, and now "belicheat" after all that gets the award for coach of the year. I just don't get why cheating isn't punished equally.

The Pats are CHEATERS and it upsets me that anyone would consider a team and a coach that has no moral values to even be considered as the best team ever. C'mon!!! They should have been suspended and denied the opportunity to go to the Superbowl or even the Playoffs. The NFL is obviously tolerating this type of behavior and it upsets me. What next?....smoke weed on the sidelines? They call steroid use cheating to an extent but what the Pats did is okay. The Patriots are a product of this selfish and greedy world. I would be embarrassed if I were a Pats fan!

I also agree with Husk. The refs have favored the Pats all year. Anyone remember the game against the Ravens when they were awarded a touchdown that was clearly not one. I wanted to puke!!! This is just one of the many things they get away with. I truly believe that the NFL was just dying to have a new undefeated team to overshadow the 72 Dolphins perfect season. The Dolphins were a team that earned it and has never been liked by the NFL and many commentators to this very day. This is very upseting and is something that will only get worse.
