St. Louis Rams owner Georgia Frontiere has died, TMZ and NFL Network are reporting. Frontiere was 80 and had battled breast cancer. She is survived by a son, a daughter and six grandchildren. Frontiere, one of the most prominent women in the history of the National Football League, inherited the Rams from her husband, Carroll Rosenbloom, who died in 1979. At the time the team was based in Anaheim, California; she later moved the franchise to St. Louis, making her a popular figure there when the Rams won the Super Bowl and a figure of derision in Southern California.
It is believed that her son, Dale "Chip" Rosenbloom, will take a more active role in running the team, although his mother usually let the football people run things. It is not clear at this time whether the family will sell the team, but in recent years co-owner and vice chairman Stan Kroenke has taken a more active role in franchise operations.

Good riddance to a greedy schemer. She won't be missed in Orange County, where she burned fans big time. I'll never forget her twisting the knife with that comment about wanting to have a victory parade in Anaheim after her team won the super bowl after the move to St. Louis.
Burn in hell, Georgia. You're right where you belong.

Gorgeous lady...made some so-so decisions, but had enough sense to let her football people run the team. She loved that team and made it known. The NFL will miss her.

People resented her at 1st, but learned to respect her ownership. Another member of the old guard gone, sad but time moves on.

Yeah say all the nice accolades you like but her former husband Carroll Rosenblum died under suspicious circumstances. Since she was a former Vegas showgirl and her ex husband Dominic was a convicted criminal , mob ties wouldn't surprise me. There are to this day more than just a few people who remember this that she may have had something to do with Carroll's death.

If she died childless... she would have been "The Final Frontiere."
(Yes,I know she pronounced it differently, but I'm aiming for the lower age of your demographic here, FH.)

Can't say I'm saddened to see Georgia's clock expire. She had her 6th husband Carroll Rosenbloom killed by the mob then fired his son and took over the team. If that wasn't bad enough, she spit in the face of L.A. Ram fans and moved the team to St. Louis. Gold digging criminal.

Southern California is shedding tears. Anyone who knows anything about football, knows that her decision to move to St.Louis was genius.
No way will her family sell the team.
