Media outlets in Buffalo are reporting that Bills general manager Marv Levy will retire. WIVB-TV first reported Levy's retirement. Levy, the Pro Football Hall of Fame coach who led the Bills to four straight Super Bowls in the 1990s, is apparently citing his age (82) as the reason that he wants to move on.
Levy retired as the Bills' coach after the 1997 season but then returned as general manager in January of 2006. He has generally done a solid job running the Bills' front office, and although they don't have a playoff berth to show for it, the team is more talented now than it was when he arrived.
The big question now is whether Levy's departure will put head coach Dick Jauron's job in jeopardy. Levy hired Jauron, and it's entirely possible that a new general manager would want a new coach. The Bills' front office could be headed for a shakeup.

The news of Marv Levy's retirement as Buffalo Bills GM comes as no surprise. Levy has more than put in his time for the Bills as a Head Coach and as a GM. Hopefully, the new GM can build upon what Levy has done to improve the Bills team and performance in the 2008 season.

Anyone else find it funny that an 82 year old man is retiring due to old age when he took the job at the age of 80? Did he think he was going to get younger?

Levy and Jauron aren't getting the players Buffalo
needs to get back to winning. Edwards, Lynch, Posluszny look like good picks. But too many divisionII players, no big up the middle run pluggers on defense and no receivers other than evans to open offense.

Lets remember one thing, Marv Levy is about the stablest man that the bills organization has ever had.He brought class and integerity to a sorry football team in the late 80`s, drafted very well and surrounded himself with good football people.By him coming back for these past 2 yrs, he has layed the ground work for this franshise to get back to respectability.Dick Juron isnt going nowhere. He will be the bills coach for awhile. He needs better coaches to help him.We need a proven offensive coordinator, and a better defensive coordinator. As for a new GM,do not be surprised if it stay within.Personally, i would rather have it come for outside.Since Marv has ties to the CFL,i wouldnt be surprised if someone was picked from there. Only my opinion.
