With Bill Parcells Now in the Mix, Miami Players Know That Changes Are Coming

New Dolphins vice lord Bill Parcells made it clear earlier in the week that he didn't want "thugs and hoodlums on the team." Yesterday, he made an appearance at Miami's practice, presumably to kick-off the weeding out process in earnest.

Understandably, most Dolphins' players realize the situation and are already preparing for the eventuality that includes some form of the conversation: "Parcells wants to see you ... and don't forget your playbook."
"I could tell you there's no fear and be vague and ambiguous, but let's be real," running back Samkon Gado said. "Yes, it's a concern for every person in this locker room. Because, at this point, our body of work is accomplished, and there is nothing you can do at this point to change your lot."
Luckily for Gado, if this professional football thing doesn't work out, he's been accepted to medical school. Other players don't have a non-football-related fallback plan:
"I'm interviewing for 31 [or] 32. That's what I'm doing on Sunday," running back Jesse Chatman said, referring to the other NFL teams. "That's what me and my teammates were talking about on the field; you see a lot of guys trying to turn up the intensity."

"What's so funny is that Bill is going to evaluate everything you've been doing since you've been here, so to try and turn it up at the end, it's kind of like, 'Where was that in the beginning?'"
Chatman makes a good point; it's not like Parcells doesn't have hours of film on each player. Those guys who have been underachieving are in a Catch-22. If they start playing the final two weeks of the season after having not done much the previous 14, won't that say more about them than anything they accomplished on the field?

There are sure to be changes this off-season, the question is how much. I suspect head coach Cam Cameron has similar concerns.
