You know, for all the discussions by certain segments of the internetosphere that the NFL is anti-Patriots, the Ravens would like to take this opportunity to strongly object. ESPN.com's Mike Sando had the great pleasure of being in Baltimore's locker room after the game and here's some of what he heard:
[Terrell] Suggs on officiating: "It's kind of the feeling of the 2001 tuck rule. It kind of feels like the tuck rule. That is the NFL for you, man. When they got a guy like that that is selling a lot of tickets, you want to keep him selling tickets."It's worth pointing out that T. Sizzle didn't do jack against Matt Light all night, and Mason was the guy mugging two Patriots defenders on the last second Hail Mary hauled in by Mark Clayton.
[Derrick] Mason on officiating: "I'm going to take it back to last game. San Diego. Quinn Sypniewski runs down the field, runs into one of their DBs, we catch the ball and they call offensive pass interference. OK. Great. This game, same things happens. Randy Moss runs right into Samari Rolle. They call defensive pass interference. I don't understand that. One game it's called one way, the next game it's called another way. At the end, you have a phantom call. That's why it's hard to play and win a game when you are playing against more than just the best team in the NFL."
Whatever, none of that takes away from the fact that the Ravens feel they were slighted. Was the officiating suspect? Sure. But isn't it always? Baltimore had plenty of opportunities to win the game, and while the defensive holding call on the Patriots' last drive was an eyebrow-raiser, it didn't have to come to that. I'm sure that won't slow up all the conspiracy talk, though.

I'm not a Patriots fan, my loyalty lies elsewhere. I think that many of those that say that the Patriots don't deserve the praise they are receiving this season are jealous, spiteful or just can't stand to see someone be successful without attempting to drag them down. Why can't people say "I don't like them, but boy are they playing some great football this year." A team cannot play at this level without talent. Do the people screaming "Cheaters!" really believe this is the only reason New England is winning games?
Having watched the entire game last night, I am disappointed in the Ravens' behavior. I understand that emotions and adrenaline were running very high through the entire game, but throwing temper tantrums on the field is just poor sportsmanship. Following that display with accusations that the Patriots/NFL have the Refs on the payroll is deplorable. If I accused a co-worker of something like that, I would likely be fired and sued for defamation of character.
The Ravens had every reason to walk off that field with their heads held high and be very proud of the amazing offensive and defensive game they played. If they had played all of their games like this they would be sporting a much better win loss record this year! By crying foul and making accusations, the Ravens have thrown away the respect they earned on the field. They should be ashamed of themselves.
As far as the Patriots being rewarded for the false start penalty - would you still feel that way if they had scored 6 on that play and had it called back for the false start?
Any activity that involves humans making judgements to either score or officiate a sport or activity will ALWAYS be open to error, speculation, and controversy. If it bothers you that much, maybe you should give up watching football and give knitting a try.

# 16 Brenda,
Thank you, I'm a firm believer in that if you can't win the right way you shouldn't play the game at all.
Spygate was a slip up and i promise it will never happen again. Though you won't see me resign, i do assure you that you will not see me go for field goals when leading by 40 points. To me i want the league to know i was pissed about being caught! I have though calmed down since then and have found my inner peace. Yoga has been a blessing. That is why you haven't seen me blowing teams out of the water these past two games.
I also took it easy on my good pal Brian for calling out Eric. I knew his Ravens have had it rough this season and wanted to give them a shot, or at least make it look like they had a shot!
I understand your feelings on what goes around comes around but i'm just to powerful for that to happen. Maybe in my next life Karma will bite me in the A$$ but not in this one. I will continue to rule the NFL with an iron fist and they will respect me and my hoodie whether they like it or not!
It's kind hard being Bill B-E-L- I Cheat!
But I somehow some way, keep coming up with new schemes like every single day....

The ONLY questionable call on that last drive was the TD. But since Bart Scott acted like a 2 year old, the Pats would have had 1st and goal from the 2 if the TD had been reversed. The Pats receivers were getting mugged all night and there were no calls. And I love how you clowns complain about the officiating and ignore the fact that Mason blatantly took down Samuel on the Hail Mary. If that was caught in the endzone, you would be screaming in joy and calling the Patriots babies for complaining. Get a life and admit the Patriots are the best team in football. "Cheating" in the first 5 minutes of the first game has nothing to do with their 12-0 record and you guys look foolish trying to hold on to that.
As a side note, these last two weeks are a reminder that the Patriots might be the best "close and late" team in the history of the NFL. Because they've blown most teams out this year, people have forgotten that.

Ravens play defense like street thugs and were fortunate they only had 13 penalties. Every time they showed a penalty replay Pats receivers were held, tossed around, or tackled while Brady was looking downfield.
If there were no rules no team would ever score on the Raven defense.

What a bunch of sore losers.
Was it the Patriots or Ravens that called the timeout?
They got to Brady all night yet he is wide open to run for that first down. Was it the Patriots that caused that to happen?
The interception was a dumb throw. Was it the Patriots that decided that play?
The penalty was a penalty. The replay clearly showed it. Who caused that to happen?
Were the Patriots responsible for guarding the end zone when it's the only thing that can change the lead? Nope...
What a bunch of sore baby losers.
When the game was on the line the Ravens choked.

To all the Patriots naysayers:
BINGO! WE GOT BINGO! WE WIN AGAIN, BABY!
All the Ravens had to do was not call a timeout... and not draw two 15yd. penalties... oh and next time try catching the Hail Mary in the endzone instead of on the two yardline.
12-0...Frustrating... isn't it? :D

to address so many of your posts:
1. Tom Brady NEVER said he would like to KILL every opponent. He said he is paid to score touchdowns, not field goals or punts. he just tries to do his job. Call that arrogant, if you will, but he's right. Maybe Kyle Boller should try that philosophy sometime.
2. What a ridiculous notion, that the NFL sent some memo to refs to fix games in one team's favor. If you believe that, there is no use talking to you. Idiots have their own language.
3. The Ravens called that stupid timeout, not the Pats, and not the Refs. And it might have been BRILLIANT if Brady gets the first down, and it's called back, giving the ravens another chance to stop them. Since the strategy didn't work, don't blame the refs for failed strategy. That's just stupid.
3. Ben Watson was held. If you don't think so, you are blind. I think some of your complaints lie in the fact that the Ravens were holding all game, and now was a bad time to be called for it. maybe so, but don't argue it didn't happen.
4. the ravens distinguished themsleves like children, not men, at the end, and their childish behavior cost them 30 YARDS when they neeeded them. Try some composure next time, before you scream about conspiracies.
5. Asante Samuel was TACKLED on the hail mary pass. Guess those refs who were in the pockets of the Pats suddenly decided they changed their minds? Grow up, learn how to win football games when it counts, get off citing silly rules that affected a game SIX YEARS ago as some league-wide covert operation. Do you really know how stupid you sound?

Benjamin benjamin benjamin, you poor blind boy. The patriots did not get "rewarded" for their false start. They got penalized 5 yards to make it 4th and 6. And the mighty Brady converted with scramble! Your Ravens are CLASSIC bullies. Beat up on people but when something doesn't go your way you cry and scream and get out of control with tantrums. Wah wah wah. YOU LOST. Just like YOU lost all five before that. Because you are undisciplined and you pound your chest and do dances on every first down and sack and TD. The RAVENS BLEW it. BLEW IT. Deal with it. First it's "video gate" then it's wah wah wah "They're running up the score" then it's wah wah wah "The refs cheated FOR them!"
pathetic. The Patriots are me. Professionals. Disciplined. Focused. Confident without being arrogant. They PLAY 60 Minutes when most other teams play 30 or 40, and in the case of the RAVENS maybe 58. But it's 60 minutes baby! An A game won't beat the Pats. You need an A+ game. And the RAVENS ain't got one! Bullies and babies.
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
too funny!

Great game. One of the best in a long time. I did turn off the sound of my TV though and listened to the game on the local radio station. The announcers were just plain childish, immature, babbling fools. We need some rules against idiots in the TV booths.
