Defensive end Simeon Rice, whose career with the Indianapolis Colts was so short that there are no photos of him in an Colts uniform in our Getty Images database, was released by the Colts yesterday, which could mark the end of his career. There was some hope in Indy that Rice could regain his old pass-rushing form under Tony Dungy, who coached him for one season in Tampa Bay. It was clear, however, that Rice had never fully recovered from offseason shoulder surgery, and unless he gets himself back in shape this spring, his NFL career may be over.
Rice has 122 career sacks in 12 NFL seasons, with is 12th overall in NFL history -- or at least since quarterback sacks were first recorded as a stat in 1982. He also has a Super Bowl ring with the Bucs. I think you'd have a hard time saying Rice's career was not Hall of Fame-worthy.

I knew when the Broncos signed him, it was a mistake. They most likely did it as a favor to John Lynch not so much to shore up the defensive line. He was a great player, but even great players should know when to hang 'em up.

Rice is a punk. Now he's a punk without a job. He hated Illinois, that's why he would say he went to "Playa University."
That jerk also dissed Pat Tilman AFTER he was killed, saying he wasn't such a good player.
A total ME guy. No Hall of Fame for you, Simeon.
