Last night's Patriots-Bills game was the first time all season that I turned off the TV before the Sunday night game was over. When the score is 56-10, there's not much reason to keep watching. And I have a feeling next week's Sunday night game, Patriots-Eagles, is going to be the same way. Yes, the Eagles are playing better, but they're no match for the mighty Patriots. Really, I don't get why NBC wants to show the Patriots at all. They're a great team and the question of whether they can go 16-0 is an interesting story, but their games, unless they're playing in Indianapolis, are not interesting because they're not close.
And now the Patriots' greatness is starting to creep into my thoughts about other games. When I watch the 31 other NFL teams, I just think to myself, "These guys couldn't beat the Patriots."
So, really, as much as I can respect the Patriots' greatness, I'm worried that they're making this a boring NFL season. Sports are fun because you never know how they're going to turn out. With the Patriots' games, that isn't the case.

As a Patriot fan, I, too, turned off the game with five minutes to go. I think that says more about the league and the coaching than the Patriots. Is there any question any more that Brady is the best, and the coaching is superb?

Patriots' greatness won't matter until they win in the play-offs. All this now is just window dressing. But agree, blow outs are always boring.

You have a good point. I think it's almost unfair that the pats picked up randy moss. They're becoming something like the yankees are in baseball. Oops, I mean, what the yankees USED to be in baseball. Which I think somewhat ruins the sport.

Wrong! All those beautiful pass plays are great football. It's like watching the football equivalent of Michael Jordan.

11 minutes of watching Cassel send Eckel up the middle was boring. I MUCH PREFER 4th & 1 and going for it! 2nd stringers cheat fans.

Its Monday morning so i checked out opinions of the NFL weekend on my favorite blogs. These are the opinions I found about the Patriots:
"Having the Patriots around does make the NFL more enjoyable, particularly when somebody knocks them on their ass. Though we suppose that will actually have to happen."
"The Patriots Are Making This Season Boring"
Shockingly, the sardonic yet positive take on the Pats comes from Leitch and the death knoll negative comes from the Mariotti of the blog world, MDS. Sports are so much fun, no?

The NFL should just cancel football for the rest of the season, give the Super Bowl Trophy to the Patriots. This way TV can save alot of money, we won't be bored watching the game, and the Patriot players won't get their uniforms dirty. Then they can go on using devious methods to win games and and the NFL can look the other way.

Only injuries will slow this team down. Once home field throughout the playoffs is clinched, they need to sit Brady down and consider resting some of their stars. It will be interesting to see.

ANYONE who says watching the Patriots are boring, cant be much of a football fan, Your watching GREATNESS and HISTORY in the making. Something when your old, you can tell your grandchildren you saw. BORING?? Hardly. I never heard of the Yankees of old, were boring or Dallas in the past. Your watching near prefection of a team. Injoy it and stop your crying. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS AMERICA'S TEAM. A number of the NE fans (the older ones) remember 1-15 records, futility, "all world" tight ends, OJ torching the Pats for 500 yds (in 2 games) on his way to 2,000 yds..... Sorry, this isn't boring at all...it just took a long while to even the score. We're having a BLAST!!!

GGeorge is correct. This Pats team is not boring--they're surgically precision like. We may never see a team this dominant absent weakness in a salary cap league ever again. They aren't the Yankees. Yankees can outspend everyone. Pats can only spend up to the cap limit--as can every other team.
The fact guys will play here for less money to win means they attract team oriented unselfish guys. The guys who want the money leave.
As a Pats fan I always would have loved to have the Pats play like Green Bay in the 60's, Miami of the early 70's, Steelers of the 70's, 49ers of the 80's, Dallas of the 90's......it's phenomenal to see them considered to be the best team in history when they're done. People claiming their boring wish the Pats were their team.

I'm not a Pats fan, but there is NOTHING BORING about excellence. I'd rather watch the Pats blow out a team than see an "exciting" 8-5 nail biter between the Ravens and the Jags.

Well, at least now we are not hearing the rants about running up the score. LOL. Even the second, third, and fourth stringers have great games. LOL.
I am not gloating, because I know anything can happen. it's great to be watching this, but all is fleeting, so i am enjoying the moment without labeling this team as "greatest"...leave that for others to argue...
But folks, those old canards about cheating...if you don't like a team, just say you don't like them...your act is getting even more old than the pats beating teams by 30 points every week...LOL

I love to see the jealousy, but we all know every other coach out there is spending fortunes to spy on the Pats, figure out what makes them tick, and to be the team to beat them. The other teams are probobly cheating more than ever, but it won't help them any.... Go Pats

I personaly love watching this team. What motivates them - and what compels me to keep watching- is that they are good enough, talent and coaching wise, to pursue "perfection". Not 16-0 perfection, but to execute every play, every series, and every game with 100% perfect execution as the goal. It seems absurd, and it can never humanly be achieved, but this remarkable bunch seems to have made this their mantra - and they're as close as any team I've seen in over 40 years of watching the NFL.

This Pats fan is loving it!
After decades of being the doormats for the NFL, there is no way I could be tired of watching fireworks from the New England Patriots. In 1986, we greeted that Pats at Green Airport for losing 46-10 to Chicago in Super Bowl XX and we were very proud of them.
Whether they go completely undefeated, or not, Pats fans will love them. If fans from other teams want to cry about this Dynasty - that’s Okay. In the past, we knew what it was like when the Pats didn’t have a chance at the beginning of the season.
