It was like Christmas in March for Eagles fans back in 2004. Probably the two biggest names available on the market became Eagles. Before the whole Terrell Owens controversy with the Ravens and special master Stephen Burbank, the Eagles signed one of the best defensive players available to a monster contract. Jevon Kearse received an eight year, $66 million dollar deal.
He never lived up to it.
Now, the man Eagles fans originally embraced has turned into a dud. Not only has he lost his starting job to Juqua Thomas but he may not even get to see the field this Sunday. He saw very limited action in the Eagles win over Washington last week and isn't sure whether he'll get a chance to show he's still got something left in the tank.
Asked whether he expected to play in goal-line situations against Miami, Kearse said, "I don't think that's going to be the indication this week."It's a sad state of affairs for Eagles fans and the man formerly known as The Freak. Even Jevon himself admitted he was disappointed, "Yeah, but it's football. That's how it was when I came in, and it's how it's going to be when I'm gone. It's part of the game. If you sit back and think about it, you're going to make yourself crazy. So I'm just going to sit back and let it happen. I just have to continue to be me. That's all I can do."
He'll have to continue to be himself, for sure, on the bench.

And Darren Howard isn't far behind him.......I bet Joe Banner is salavating over how much cap space will be created when they dump these two anchors...Of course they will draft a 5th round DE from BYU or something and tell everyone it was a steal, he plays a nice game, relentless motor.....etc...

He was actually pretty great that first year in Philly. He didn't have the mindblowing stats, but he was constantly breaking up plays and his ability led to team-mates finding holes in the o-line.
Yes he has been a disappointment, but that is a result of injury and they is nothing anyone can do about that.
