The Fanhouse's Ryan Wilson told us earlier that Miami is sticking with Cleo Lemon as their starting QB. Apparantly, a former Dolphins' quarterback doesn't agree. Former Dolphin great Dan Marino told reporters at a golf outing that hrookie John Bech should get the nod instead:
''I think that they need to see him play,'' Marino said Monday at the ADT Skills Challenge at Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club. "They need to see him play to find out if he can (play) because they will have a high draft pick."
I tend to agree with Dan. Nothing against Cleo Lemon, but if Miami really thought that he'd be the future of this team, they would have never dealt for Trent Green and drafted Beck in the 2nd round. If this team had any chance to do anything, I can see the merit of keeping Lemon in the lineup. However, Miami is 0-8 and the war is lost. Go ahead and see what Beck can do ... just to get him some game action and some film to break down.

AS A LONG TIME DOLPHINS FAN I FIND MYSELF DISTANCING MYSELF FURTHER AND FURTHER FROM THIS FRANCHISE.FIRST THE DECISION TO BRING RICKY WILLIAMS TO THIS TEAM.AND NOW THE DECISION NOT TO BRING IN THE QB YOU DRAFTED FOR THE SECOND HALF OF AND 0-8 SEASON.I AGREE WITH DAN MARINO NOW IS THE TIME TO SEE WHAT YOU HAVE INVESTED IN.CAM CAMERON NEEDS TO WAKE UP AND GIVE US DOLPHIN FANS A REASON TO EVEN CONSIDER BUYING SEASON TICKETS NEXT YEAR!HEY WAYNE YOUR PRETTY DRESSED UP STADIUM WON'T LOOK SO PRETTY NEXT YEAR WHEN IT IS EMPTY.PLEASE SELL OUR TEAM AND JUST GO AWAY!

Right before every game, they should roll the ball out onto the field like in the XFL, and see if Lemon Law or ol' Jeff Beck there wants the starting job worse.
Where Florida is a citrus-producing state, how long before people begin to throw lemons at Lemon? I say 0-10, as the more suspicious Floridians will begin to see eerie curse-logic to New England aiming at 16-0 as Miami aims at 0-16. They may even start chucking Nantucket Nectars bottles at him.

Also.. I'll be travelling around the next Miami game, but might I recommend my friends Elle and Abdullah for the NE/Miami Enemy Blogger?
They cover my column both at CCToday and at the CCTimes during my vacations and medical emergencies, and they'd be glad to weigh in to help out a Fellow Traveller.
Elle is a local high school student, and Abdullah is a Fall River bookie. They team well together for some reason. You can reach them at the Monponsett name on the A to the Izzy.
Besides, I don't think Mr. Ness likes me. I think it's because he knows I'm French.
