Tank Johnson Can Practice With Cowboys

Adam Schefter of NFL Network and Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News are reporting that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell notified suspended Cowboys defensive tackle Tank Johnson this morning that he can begin practicing with the Cowboys immediately.

Johnson spent two months in Cook County Jail and was suspended for eight games during the off-season. He was released by the Chicago Bears after a traffic stop over the summer revealed that he was driving with alcohol in his system, although he was not legally drunk. The Cowboys signed him this season after nose tackle Jason Ferguson was lost for the season with an injury.

Johnson had hoped to be reinstated after six games, but Goodell didn't allow that, so Johnson will be eligible to play in the Cowboys' ninth game, Nov. 11 against the Giants. Johnson's first practice with the Cowboys will be Friday.
