Last Sunday during the CBS pregame show, the handsomely coiffed Charley Casserly informed us that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was turning his attention away from dogfighting and spying to focus on a much more sinister crime: cheerleaders. Yep, no more warming up in front of the visiting teams' locker room because, well, grown men can't control themselves, apparently. Surprising, I know.
Count the Colts as one of the teams in favor of the rules change. During their Week 2 game in Tennessee, some of the players complained of the very distraction Casserly described.
"...it was like something from a movie," said Indianapolis Colts cornerback Marlin Jackson. "You come into the locker room and they're lined up stretching. I was like, 'What's going on here?' It's like something from 'The Longest Yard.' They're in here stretching. We're trying to get warmed up. I think that's a good rule to have.""The Longest Yard"? Really? Is Jackson saying that the Titans' cheerleaders looked like Tracy Morgan, or is he just confusing his movies?
Whatever, SBM and Colts cornerback Kelvin Hayden said he's not affected:"You might (do a double-take) but you're more focused on the task at hand." And the married guys are even less affected: "I don't know anything about it. If I did, I probably wouldn't care to comment on it," said Colts linebacker Rob Morris, with a laugh. "I didn't even know there were cheerleaders in the NFL." At least cheerleaders that resembled Tracy Morgan, anyway.

Have the contestants of the beauty pageants in front of the visiting team locker rooms and there will be distractions of the third kind.

I agree! That's one reason the Steelers don't have Cheerleader!... Among other reasons..
It’s like when a boxer is in training! I don’t have to go into detail do i? But I would be interested in scoring another way seeing all those hotties on the field!

PLEASE LETS NOT START ON THE CHEERLEADERS. IF THE COLTS ARE BUSY LOOKING AT THIER OWN CHEERLEADERS, WHO IS TO BLAME FOR THAT. DON'T PENALIZE THE FANS JUST CAUSE A FEW COLTS ARE EXCITED A LITTLE BIT. THE CHEARLEADERS ARE JUST FINE IN MY BOOK. IF THIS GONNA BECOME AN ISSUE THAT SHOULDN'T THEN TAKE ALL THE CHEARLEADERS OUT OF THE GAME. LIKE THE STEELERS. BUT JUST CAUSE A FEW COLTS ARE EXCITED OVER THIS, DON'T TAKE IT OUT ON ME.

People talk about how Kraft somehow has a stranglehold on the league, but let's look at the Colts, shall we?
* When Patriot players were LEGALLY tying up receivers within five yards, the Colts left no stone unturned to change the rules in favor of receivers. I guess that didn't help the Colts or anything, though.
* Is is SUPPOSSED to be a rule that, once the offensive line has gone into their stance, and the quarterback has come under center, ANY movement after that by offensive players, other than lateral movement by an eligible receiver is a penalty. But not for the COLTS. Every play, offensive linemen stand up and point, and the quarterback gets out of his crouch, even MOVING to the left and right as he barks out signals. But no penalty. They get away, on a regular basis, with something that other teams get penalized for.
* Watch a Colts game. When they are winning, Manning, several times per game, runs the clock to ZERO and then the ball is snapped. Never called.
But I am sure, Dungy, that "God loving family man," would never try to bend rules or change them to get an advantage or anything, like the Pats do.

You are disgusting with your sarcastic writing as though Commisioner Goodell is wacky. I'm tired of you "media types" treating pornography as mains stream entertainment and then reacting in horror when children get raped. You are irresponsible - period! These cheerleaders should go home and get dressed and you writers should read a good book on child psychology! If you think sex is just a toy - please, discuss it with your 12 year old daugher.

I think cheerleaders in high school sports are worthless let alone pro sports?!!? I mean, come on...it's not like anyone in a stadium can even hear them?! They are just eye candy and nothing less. I'm disappointed that anyone would even want to be a cheerleader. Cheerleading is an absolute waste of time and money.
