Would it be a New York Giants football game without a few devastating injuries? If you answered no, you're right on, and I'm not here to disappoint you.Defensive end Osi Umenyiora and running back Brandon Jacobs have both been lost for the night, possibly longer, after suffering a pair of knee injuries. While both players were able to walk off under their own power, the Giants have already scheduled them for MRI's tomorrow.
Due to Umenyiora's injury, Michael Strahan, who had been serving as a reserve, was forced back into his starting role. Normally, William Joseph would have taken that spot, but he also suffered
a back injury prior to the game, and is unavailable.
In replace of Jacobs, the Giants have turned to a running back by committee.
Update: Cornerback Kevin Dockery was carted off with an ankle injury.

As always there are always numerous injuries to each and every team as they begin their season........BUT I don't ever recall more continuous injuries like the Giants have had this year. They fired their strength and conditioning coach last year and I'm thinking they might have hired Jack Lalane and his lovely wife to get all those muscles in shape? There is no other team currently with those number of players down since training camp began. Moss-Osi-Jacobs-Dockery-Finn-Joseph-Madison-Webster-Manning-Smith-Shockey-Jennings-Tyree and Douglas......I even think there were a few more 2 weeks out before reg-season..Anybody have a clue whats in the Gatorade these guys are drinking?.It's not normal.

Well, for one, the Giants have the worst veteran off-season camp participation. Maybe they're just lazy and don't buy into the whole 'team' concept.

Giant fans should have known what was ahead for this season in the begining of the Dallas game. Bang Bang a quick score to Plaxico, and blow the extra point. Injuries are part of the game, but so is the coaching staff and Big Blues SUCKS

Whats the big surprize? Poorly conditioned players, a rabble for a defense, Eli giving his early season big numbers, same old Giants, same old front office, and same old stunned looked Coughlin, the front office could have made big changes but....the seats are full, who needs a winner. Jacobs is over rated, the defense couldn't stop Notre Dame.Looks like a deadlast finish, Eli can't carry them alone.

ELI LOOKS VERY GOOD- HE MADE NO MISTAKES AND HIS PICK WAS ONLY BECAUSE PLAXICO FELL DOWN- HE IS HOPEFULLY FULFILLING HIS PEDIGREE
THE DEFENSE AS EXPECTED IS A BIG PROBLEM- DO NOT HAVE THE STRONG LINE OR BACKERS OR CORNERS
GOING TO BE A LONG WINTER- MORE INJURIES WILL PROBABLY OCCUR AND 7- 9 ALSO NEED MORE HORSES ON THE OFFENSIVE LINE AS DALLAS HAS DONE. WHAT ELSE IS NEW?
