Buccaneers Sign Jeremiah Trotter

ESPNews, Pro Football Talk and PewterReport.com are reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed linebacker Jeremiah Trotter.

The addition of Trotter should make an immediate difference to the Bucs' defense, as he's a tough, smart player who won't take long to learn a new system. At the same time, the Tampa Bay system that coordinator Monte Kiffin runs is not a particularly good fit for Trotter. Middle linebackers in the Tampa 2 tend to be smaller and faster than the 262-pound Trotter, and he is more likely to be a situational player on short-yardage plays than an every-down linebacker.

Trotter's got a fancy official web site, but he really needs to update it now to get all the Eagles stuff off.
