In exchange for a recommendation of a lenient sentence, Michael Vick has agreed to cooperate in investigations and prosecutions of other criminals. Specifically, Vick agreed, if asked, to provide "full, complete and truthful cooperation" with federal prosecutors "regarding any criminal activity as requested by the government."
That raises an interesting question that probably hasn't been addressed enough in all this: Just how much criminal activity does Vick have knowledge about? Obviously, the prosecutors wouldn't agree to this deal if they thought the only criminals Vick had any association with were the ones involved in Bad Newz Kennels, because those criminals have already pleaded guilty. Vick had no leverage there.
Vick is only useful to the prosecutors if he has additional knowledge of additional criminal activity, criminal activity that we currently don't know about. But In a strange way, the more Vick helps the government, the more he might hurt his chances of getting back to the NFL, as it's hard to see how he can help the government without acknowledging that he's deeply involved in a criminal underworld. The prosecutors might be glad that Vick is willing to talk about such things, but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell won't be.

Did I just hear right? Vick will probably get just 12 to 18 months in jail? That's insane,for what he did to those poor animals he should spend that measly time in one of the kennels at the animal shelter with the other dogs. But I doubt the dogs would want him there either.
Psychiatrists have a book of childhood behaviors that they use to predict whether or not a person will become a sadistic person capable of becoming a serial killer; that trait is cruelty to animals. Evidentally almost all serial killers have engaged in acts of animal cruelty at some point in their formative years. What does that say about a culture that witnesses the horrendous cruelty of dog fighting and turns a casual eye towards it? What part of the heart and mind is missing or turned off in the people who engage in dog fighting; and all of the cruel practices involved in training dogs to kill each other? Someone once wrote the following words about so-called "dumb animals": "The question isn't whether they can talk or whether they can reason, the question is, CAN THEY SUFFER?"
I think he's a liar, too. At this point, he would do anything to save his butt from going to the pokey. I hope he is never allowed to play football again for the NFL. Most of all, I think his property in Virginia where the sting took place, should be confiscated and deeded to the local Humane Society. I think any and all endorsements and contracts he has made money from should support the Humane facility, taxes, bills and daily upkeep of an animal sanctuary!!! What would it take to get this email posted to the judge prosiding over his sentence? Please pass it on if you can.
I have to disagree with the post that Vick should have to work at an animal shelter. Animal shelters have to put down animals daily - and I think he's been a part of senseless death enough.
He should have to do community service at an emergency animal hospital, in addition to jail. At a hospital, he would have to take part in SAVING LIVES of animals.
Vick needs to see the absolute opposite of his conditioning. Do some deep heart work and become a conscious human being.
I'm so glad Vick found God and Jesus!. Whenever these low lifes get into trouble they try to bail out using God and Jesus. Unfortunately when God gave Vick a strong arm to play football he must have forgotten to give him a brain, a heart and compassion!! Let him ROT in jail. All the morons who support animals like him with their support should do pennance at an animal shelter and look into their souls. It was clear at his news conference that immaturity could not make him admit that what he did was cruel and mindless. Until he does that at least, until he owns up to ALL he did neither God or Jesus will forgive him.

I thick Mr. Vick has lost his privilege to be a part of the NFL. Having " knowledge of forethought" about actual hanging and drowning of several dogs speaks volumes about his character. His athletic prowess should in no way be elevated above his character. I hope when he is let out of his prison cage that he has a very long leash and of all he is banned for life from the NFL>>>>
I am truly sorry for Michael Vick. I, unlike some of the folks who have made comments, understand the difficulty in not growing up. We make such foolish mistakes. Unfortunately, his is really a big one. His association of homeboys brought him down. When you have grown up in the projects, moved to the white world with your fame, it makes no difference, the little black boy still comes from the projects. He has to let those association go, his homeboys. I do hope he is sincere in or with his apology for if not, he will repeat the same mistakes again and again. I recommend that he get counseling to help him through this madness.

I indicated that I believe his apology is sincere. However, I think the concenquences made it sincere. If his crime had not come to light I doubt that he would have apologized. So, maybe the sincerety is tied directly to getting caught.

I think that Michael Vick was wrong for doing what he did to those dogs, but it's not right for everyone to say he should rot in jail, never return to the NFL, or that he'll never be forgiven by God for his wrong doing. Everyone of us has done worse things than Michael Vick but we just have not got caught yet. He without SIN CAST the FIRST STONE. Michael Vick needs our prayers and that's what we should give him. Nobody is perfect and God is a forgiving God regardless of what we have done and what anyone may think.
Do I think he is sorry? Yes, sorry he got caught. I don't buy this sicko's humble act that obviously his attorney told him to do. I hope this changes him, but right now he is nothing but a sicko. He doesn't need to grow up, he needs to become human. Children have way more morals than him!
