Broncos running back Travis Henry has a lot of money. Enough that he has a $100,000 car. Enough that he's spent $146,000 on jewelry. But not enough to take care of his kids. Of course, he has nine of them, by nine different women.
In fact, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Henry was about to be jailed because he couldn't come up with $9,800 he owed in child support, so he borrowed the money from his former team, the Titans, to pay it.
Henry, 28, has fathered nine children by nine women in at least four Southern states and has been ordered by various judges to provide child support for seven of them, according to court records involving one child living in DeKalb County.
DeKalb Superior Court Judge Clarence Seeliger this week ordered Henry to provide $3,000 a month for the Lithonia boy he fathered out of wedlock three years ago with Jameshia Beacham, now 29.
Henry isn't the most thrifty guy, according to court records, so the judge wants to ensure payment by establishing an unusual $250,000 trust that Henry must fund by next spring.
Although he signed a five-year, $22.5 million contract with the Broncos this off-season that guarantees him $12 million, Henry's lawyer says, "He doesn't have any money." The Big Lead calls Henry the new Shawn Kemp. Sorry, No Photos

Okay, now here's a crime that affects people; women and children. I want a higher level of virulence than attacked Michael Vick for what was done to DOGS!!
Mr. Goodell this should certainly be a personal conduct offense. I think that before we address crimes against animals, we should first address transgressions against our fellow man, not man's best friend. I think Goodell should make it a part of the "privilege" of playing in the NFL that you must be in compliance with all support orders and also make players sign an agreement making the corporate office available for accepting service of process.

Way to go Travis. As if the general public isn't getting enough of a negative stereotype about athletes in general and black athletes in particular, you and your penis can't seem to say no to the offering of a piece of strange. You have a job in a sport where 80% of your body is covered in some sort of protection, but once you leave the locker room, all thoughts of protection go out the window. This generation that you belong to has had more sexual education than any other in history. "Wrap it up!" "No glove, no love!" These and countless other catch phrases have been bandied about by the government, the leaders of our communities, and the entertainment industry. Does it really take nine kids and the court systems to teach a man that if you can't afford the kids, maybe you shouldn't have the kids!

OK! #1. The blacks in America were breed to breed then go somewhere and breed again to keep the economic system going. Now even a BLACK man in American has a heart. When your heart is continually broken you may not want to have your heart broken agin , so you learn to not let your heart get involved. You'be seen your parents and yourself sold off. So history and word of the community taught you to not love to deep, be a rolling stone. Now everyone of the black race is not like this but a William Lynch mentality rolls on. One more thought: This plantation type of mentality is still going on. THE ONES WHO ENJOY THE RUFF WAY ARE MAKING THE DEMAND FOR THIS TYPE OF HARD CORE PLAY POSSIBLE. We all need some time on the couch.

This story is MORE disgusting than the Vick story. Vick didn't care about the lives of his dogs. Henry and these women don't care about the lives of these children.

Do the fathers of these children think of the children as anything more than notches on their belt? Do the mothers of these children think of the children as anything more than winning lottery tickets? If not, these children need to be taken away from both parents and adopted by people who will truly love and care for them. And both natural parents should be required to pay child support to the adoptive parents. Perhaps this would stop some of this foolishness.

The disgustingly irresponsible Travis Henry should be required to have a vasectomy.

Travis Henry of the Denver Broncos has "fathered" 9 children with 9 different women over the past 4 years. He should be neutered and put under Vick's dog house.

So, what else is new? His brains are in his pants and he has no sense of decency. He is no better than an animal. In fact, I would respect an animal much more.

More than 70% of african american children are born out of wedlock. (Catherine Behan, Chicago Chronicle, Nov. 98) As with all public figures, NFL players are representative of the people. If we were to gain anything from having this knowledge (besides opening our mouths in large gaping fashions and trashing the man-which, hey I'm all for that too), perhaps we could use this as an opportunity to talk about some of these issues. The issues of black children without fathers in their lives, spawning your seed at 47 locations, and the true impact it has on us as a society.
Chris (above) makes an excellent point. In the scheme of things, the impact to society due to the mistreatment of dogs (and even as a dog lover shocked and disgusted by their abuse in the Vick case) is minimal in comparison to the impact of those children and their families.
And, as an aside, what does one possibly need with 54 million dollars (already having received $12 mil.) that would cause him to be broke? Perhaps it's time to get a Yugo, an urban condo and support these children. Your obligation regardless of a court order.

Do you think Goodell will step up to the plate on this one? This player is violating the law and is pleading poverty!? Once again a NFL player who will not accept responsibility for his actions.

I feel sorry for the children who will grow up without a father figure in their lives every day. I have two children and I could not imagine not raising them on a daily basis. I am not rich in money but I am rich in Love and I pass that on to my children so they can have a better chance to grow up and be productive members of society. I am willing to bet that with that many cheildren their is no way he can be a good father to all of them. I do hope he tries to be a good father to as many as he can!
Good luck and If you are reading this please stop having children and give your love to the ones you already have. You are blessed to have so many children now live for them, not yourself and good luck and god bless,
Karl and Chilan Hallesy

Another sad athlete story but besides Travis..there are thousands of men just like him with multiple babies by multiple women who don't take care of their business....whats even more scary is the fact that these folks are having unprotected sex with no regard to STD's..even the 1's that can kill u...but before we start jmust pointing the finger at Travis...what about the women who see..NFL star and then dollar signs who care nothing about their life or an inocent child...there is enough blame to go around about 9 different ways in this case...

I do not get it #4 you say you have seen your grandparents and yourself sold off??? What for a job you had a choice in doing or not. If that were the case then we ALL have been sold no matter of race. The slaves had no choice in if they were or were not sold.
And you say, "When your heart is continually broken you may not want to have your heart broken again, so you learn to not let your heart get involved". So yes you are right that is a person with no heart to take that chance of creating a child (who did not ask to be created) or even spreading STD'S but that is the choice they made by having unprotected sex. Women as well as men should say no to unprotected sex. I don't care if they do or don't like the feel of latex. Some things just do not wash off.
Him being inthe public eye should of given him more reason to wrap it up!!!!!!!!

Oh please, this is nothing. Travis Henry ain't got NOTHING on my man Daad Mohammed Murad Abdul Rahman who has 78 children by 15 wives & ex-wives. He is 60 years old and wants 100 children by 2015 which is in EIGHT more years. Go and check out the story at http://www.parentdish.com/2007/08/20/father-of-78-wants-100-kids-by-2015/ Now HERE is something to marvel at. Like I said Travis Henry with only 9 children is a mere amateur, lol.

It takes 2 to tango. Being a female and working in health care, I say both are at fault. One, like above,"no glove, no love", 2 these women probably got pregnant on purpose thinking he'd marry them or just to get a hefty child support check. The mentalaty of this country has gone to pot. Nobody takes responsibility for their own actions anymore. We don't take time with our children to teach them right from wrong, it is easier to leave them with a sitter or sit them in front of a TV while we go out or do other things. It is easier to sit around and think up ways to sue other people or big corporations than to go to work and earn it yourself. The amount of money athletes earn is ridiculous. People that do real jobs and contribute to society should earn the money, not people that run around in tights hitting other people. Come on AMERICA, wake up. We are destroying ourselves, but as usual blaming it on someone else.
Yes he should have to pay child support, but the women should have to take some burden also, they we as big a part in this as he was.
