Training camp is finally here and FanHouse breaks down the most important position battles heading into the season, team by team. Are there any Buffalo Bills fans out there that actually believe this is a battle? I, personally, do not, but the Bills insist that Paul Posluszny is currently number two on the depth chart behind middle linebacker John DiGiorgio.
Is it possible that DiGiorgio was really that impressive this spring? I realize he has great instincts, but isn't that precisely what Poz is known for as well? Either way, DiGiorgio is going into camp as the starting middle linebacker with Poz playing catch-up.
There is no doubt this "battle" will rage on throughout camp and the preseason, with a winner probably not being determined until the very end. However, I have to assume that unless DiGiorgio completely blows Posluszny out of the water, Poz will get the starting nod in week one.
Paul is a special kid and there are 31 other NFL teams that are going to regret not drafting him.

Paul definitely deserves to be starting over John and the Bills coaching staff will see that during camp. I'm a season ticket holder at PSU and have been watching Paul play for years. He's an amazingly talented player! His football skills and natural play-reading instincts are unreal. I could not agree more that other NFL teams will regret not taking him. Show 'em what ya got Poz!

Not so fast my friend. My prediction is that John will be starting on opening day. All he does is make plays. If you happened to watch the NFL network when they had the bills mini camp John ran past people all over the field and got to the ball constantly. I take nothing away from Pos but don't take it away from John either. Nobody gave him a chance to make the team last year and he did as an undrafted rookie free agent. He will be starting this year, the NFL has built itself on these type of stories. Unknown players overcoming the odds, John will add to those stories.
