Training camp hasn't even started for the Atlanta Falcons, but the Michael Vick indictment is already making an impact. Vick will have to appear in court on July 26 to face charges that he was involved in a dog fighting conspiracy. July 26 also happens to be the first day of practice at the Falcons' training camp.
Vick will, presumably, be back at training camp to face a media circus the next day.Vick is to appear at a 3:30 p.m. bond hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Dennis Dohnal and a 4 p.m. arraignment before U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson, who will handle the case that has put his career in jeopardy.
The Falcons' first practice begins at 3 p.m. the same day - a coincidence that promises to fuel the media maelstrom swirling around the team.

I don't see how he'll end up playing this season, even if the league decides to allow him to. Between appearances, preparations for trial, and the overall stress that comes with this, I think he'll soon realize that the 2007 season (among others more possibly) isn't going to happen. I just read an article that said the court system in Richmond moves quickly, and that his trial should take place 4-6 months from now. If this is the case, no way do I see him playing this season.

Anyone who can sit and watch poor animals fight to the death is disgusting. He has no conscience. If he can do this to animals, he is capable of doing anything to human beings. I hope they lock him up and throw away the key. The NFL needs to kick him out immediately and rid him good riddance.

Michael Vick hinted months ago that he participated in dog fights. So, todays announcement is no surprise. What is surprising is that it is taking so long for official to cut him loose.
He has to go. He has violated many federal, state and local laws. He did so blatantly, and with total disregard for the dogs he owned. There should be no question about season '07, 08 or any other. Michael Vick will go the way of Tyson and OJ. He's a disgrace.

Not funny. Dog fighting is serious. I dont know how many stories I have read about fighting dogs getting loose and then attacking children and the elderly, literally eating them to death. Vick is lucky that this never happened with dogs on his property. Vick deserves every bit of 6 years in prision, which he will surely buy his way out of serving any time.

Throw Vicks into a ring with one pit bull for two hours and justice will be served. I will be on the pitbull's side, cheering.
How could anyone be this cruel to man's best friend?

In quite a few of the other blogs spots you here people say to not be harsh on Vick until he has had his day in court. Sure thing, give him about as much sympathy as the dogs got.
It's time for the Falcons to cut their losses with Vick, give him his release for violating any morales or good behavior clause he has, remeber this guy had been passing out his herpes virus also, allegedly.
The Falcons need to give Vick his release and sign Daunte Cullpepper, Daunte is one brother who deserves a break and Vick definately is not.

Guilt by association should be enough to send this asshole away for as long as possible. I hope he gets the harshest and longest sentence. Rot in hell Vicks.

Suspension? Hell no! "FIRED AND JAILED". If he will do it to an animal who's next? Believe me this does not have anything to do with race.

Vick shouldn't even be allowed to play ball in prison where he certainly should spend more than the six year maximum. As far as the fine that's a joke he probably has that in his pocket.

I have 4 sons(2 are football players, 2 soccer players), 2 daughters, 2 dogs, and 1 husband. If the NFL does nothing to Michael Vick, NONE of us will be watching or wearing anything concerning the NFL. Anyone who has read any detail of this savagery can possibly do anything else. It's about the money. If they think he will cost them money, the NFL will dump Vick like the garbage he is. Where are you PETA?

Letter Arther Blank.
If you let this murderer, this scum bag who tortured and killed animals for his own amusement, you no better than him.I would feed Vick to Hannibal Lecter, that would be a just punishment for what he did to those dogs.
This piece of scum is lower than whale crap.He beat to death, hung and electocuted these dogs. How can you even associate this murderer with your organization?
To call Vick an animal is giving him too much credit. You should have known about this,if not,I guess you looked the other way,or does this piece of crap have carde blanche to do what he wants?I hope Vick goes to prison and is used like a dog by the prisoners.

Michael Vick is a disgrace to the public, the NFL, The Atlanta Falcons and in particular to the Falcon's fans. He is a true thug in every sense of the word. Just another example of you can take the boy out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the BOY............$130 million dollars........what a fool. He should be thrown in a pit and every Atlanta Falcon fan should be allowed to walk by and knock the shit out of him. He deserves prison and no suspension but he should be fired, banned and deported back to the ghetto.
