Welcome again to "Packers Notebook." The purpose of Packers Notebook is to keep all of you hardcore fans up-to-date with Green Bay's goings on without littering FanHouse will three or four posts per day. With that said, let's check out what's happening in Packers land.Former Packer gets robbed: Frank Winters, who played for the Packers from 1992 to 2002, recently had his home broken into. Thieves stole both his 1997 NFC Championship ring and his 1997 Super Bowl Ring, as well as autographed photos of Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Brett Favre and Bart Starr and his Jeep SUV.
Packers donate to charity: The Green Packers, doing what they do best, donated over $5,790 to the Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay this week. The funding came from the Packers FanTiXchange.
Green Bay locks up a rookie: The Packers and fourth-round draft pick Allen Barbre reached a contract agreement this past week. The deal will be for four-years and $2.1 million. Barbre was the fifth Packers rookie to sign a contract.
Packers new field nearing completion: As I type this, two of the world's largest sewing machines are making their way up and down Lambeau Field putting the final touches on the new DD Grassmaster surface. Completion is expected by the end of the month; just in time for the Packers to play their annual Family Night scrimmage.
Several players facing termination: Guards Travis Leffew, Pat Murray and Adam Stenavich could all be cut when the NFL calls for teams to trim their rosters. However, Leffew has shown significant improvement this offseason and may battle his way into a roster spot.
Starting again: The Packers have announced that second-year guard Daryn Colledge will retain his starting job this season. On the right side, the Packers will go with Jason Spitz.
