According to ProFootballWeekly.com, the New York Giants have re-signed exclusive rights free agent defensive end Adrian Awasom.

Awasom, who will be entering his third NFL season, is now listed as the fourth string defensive end because of Mathias Kiwanuka's switch to linebacker. He will probably see significantly more playing time this season and could potentially play a vital role for New York.

It should be noted, however, that if one of three top defensive ends (Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck) go down with an injury, Kiwanuka will fill their spot.

Last season Awasom played in 10 games and collected 12 tackles and one sack.

Financial details were not disclosed.
