Here's the latest from the weird world of Pacman Jones: On the eve of his appeal to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Adam "Pacman" Jones probably should avoid what he did the last time he was in New York for the meeting that led to his one-year suspension.So let me get this straight, hours before Jones was to appear before the head of the company -- and I'm not talking about the regional manager, but the CEO of the whole outfit -- he decided he could use a little late-night lap dance to take the edge off? Hmm. When you hear stuff like this you have to wonder if Jones should also be drug-tested (again).
Jones went to a strip club, sources close to the league, the NFL Players Association and Jones have confirmed.
But it gets better: apparently, Jones made the visit "shortly after he had a face-to-face meeting with two leading veteran players, Takeo Spikes and Troy Vincent, who traveled to New York to urge Jones to clean up his act." God, that's rich. I imagine Spikes and Vincent making an impassioned plea for Jones to straighten up and the whole time all he could think about was "makin' it rain."
Since Goodell is the same guy that levied the original 16-game suspension, I'm pretty sure Jones won't be playing in the NFL in 2007. On the upside, he'll have plenty of time to harass strippers without the pesky encumbrances of having to hold down a real job.
