Wow ... I thought I was done with Young MC. But here he comes, surfacing in 2007, in a video about the best sports moments of the 1980s. And it is phenomenal.
He's joined by KRS-One and Kool Moe Dee, along with a cast of characters who don't often get mentioned in rap songs. I'm talking about Larry Mize, Andre the Giant, Mary Decker Slaney, and Diego Maradona, Mary Lou Retton and Keith Smart ... all in the same song. And did I mention Young MC? I guess ToneLoc was booked.
Congrats to the people at the Best Damn Sports Show for putting this thing together, and thanks to the reader who sent it in ... I have no idea even how old this thing is. If you're a child of the 80s, this'll take you back ... don't just stand there, bust a move.
I think I still have the Big Joe Crash comic somewhere in my neglected old collection. I've got "Break the Chain" somewhere on my hard drive, too.
It wasn't one of KRS' best moments, but it beat the hell out of some of the stuff on the Human Education Against Lies project. That track with Michael Stipe still hurts my brain today.
The "Good Old Days!!!"...when everyone was just "bustin a move...not "bustin caps"...like the young minds are doing now... Young Mc, KRS-One, Kool Moe Dee...you're right....and if Tone Loc would have been there...this would have been the all time "Be There Or Be Square" moment!!!! Thank you so much mjd!... Keep it up!:)
Knowledge Reigns Supreme...he spelled his name with a "K" as in Kris, not with a "Ch"...H.E.A.L is needed more today than when it originated...As incredible as he was, Larry couldn't hold Michaels jock, nobody with any sense has argued in favor of Larry over MJ in more then 15 years...also, you guys let me know when you have met Young MC and can determine if he is qualified to rhyme with KRS. KRS is my favorite of all-time, but I don't judge Young MC like I am some authority on skills.

KRS-One and Young MC in the same room. Seriously, this makes me sad.

A) Remember that Jordan's 63 on the Celtics was in a losing effort, and that Jordan never won spit until Larry's back went out on him.
B) Kool Moe Dee does a fairly accurate Dave Zirkoff, or whatever that Philly PA announcer guy's name was.

C) Young MC should serve as the anchor on nothing that features KRS-One, unless it's a boat.
D) That said... KRS's best collaborative effort ever- "Mad Izm," by Channel Live- also features Chris in the leadoff spot.

@Napoleon: That'd be Zinkoff, but close enough.
That was terrific.
One of my favorite rap lyrics with an 80's sports star in the title, courtesy of The Gza:
"I slayed MC's back in the rec room era/
My style broke mutherf--kin backs like Ken Patera"
Anybody remember KRS' "Joe Crash" character that had his own comic book?
