A regular look at when we can expect to see the 2007 rookie quarterback class on the field. He'll start right away if: The Dolphins botch their dealings with Trent Green and Daunte Culpepper. Currently Green is property of the Chiefs and Culpepper plays for the Dolphins, but the most likely scenario is that by training camp, Green will be in Miami and Culpepper will be elsewhere. In any event, Beck will only start if the Dolphins somehow end up with neither of them.
He'll hold the clipboard if: He needs at least a year to adjust from BYU to the NFL, which most observers believe he will.
Most likely scenario: This year he'll be the understudy to a veteran, probably Green. But Green is getting old, and it's less than a 50-50 proposition that he plays in 2008.
Projected first start: Opening day, 2008. Next year we'll find out if Beck-to-Ginn is better than Quinn-to-Rice.

I would have to agree with the statment that it would at lest take a year (or more) to adjust from college to NFL. So we will see if Beck will be ready by next year if he starts or not.

John Beck will be the starting quarterback of the Miami Dolphins only if Trent Green or Duante Culpepper are injured or not on the team. I figure at least late in the season if the Dolphins are out of the playoff chase or a blowout game.

They should botch their plans on Green and let Cleo Lemon be the starting QB next season.

I think if Lemon have a summer camp as good as he did the last mini camp, Lemon just might take the starting. Remember, Lemon is familar with Camron's offense from San Diego.
