When the Giants released Luke Petitgout in early February, they seemed to have a plan. They seemed content with moving David Diehl over to that position, but now it appears they are second guessing themselves. There was an ever-so-brief interest in Leonard Davis, the draft selection of Adam Koets, the signing of four offensive linemen following the draft, the trade talks with Cleveland and now the workout of unrestricted free agent Brad Badger (Oakland). If that's not a sign of discomfort with their offensive line, I don't know what is.
It's apparent that General Manager Jerry Reese is a bit concerned with their guard position and they're scrambling to fix it. The problem is, there really isn't anything out there capable of plugging that hole.
I suppose if anyone stood above the rest, it would be Badger. Sadly, that's not saying much. The 11 year veteran has played in 133 NFL games, starting 64 of them. He's clearly winding down to the end of his career but may be the Giants best chance to protect Eli Manning.
