The Marcus Vick Experience Is a Short Ride

Here's what Marcus Vick told the Miami Herald two weeks ago:
"Cam Cameron is going to give me a fair shot. There's no doubt I can [be an NFL receiver]. I need to run better routes.''
Here's what Cam Cameron told New Mexico today: "Thanks, but no thanks." Vick and Manny Wright got their walking papers as the Cam Cameron Makeover continues.

Wright was best known as "the guy Nick Saban made cry at practice" and Vick was best known for being Ron Mexico's younger brother (among other things). Now, three days after taking one wide receiver in the draft, Vick is out of a job.

Given his quote above, the timing seems odd. Especially when you consider the depth chart, in addition to Ted Ginn, includes Marty Booker, Chris Chambers and Derek Hagan. I'm not saying Vick deserves to be ahead of any of these players, but every team needs a Nos. 4 and 5 option.

So, where does Vick end up? My guess is New England. The Pats are trying to corner the market on wide receivers, even the ones with some baggage.
