The sports blogosphere likes to make quite a bit of sport of Sean Salisbury, so it's no surprise that the news that he has lost his WMVP radio show in Chicago has already been noted at Sports by Brooks and Deadspin. People in the rest of the country probably didn't realize that in addition to his duties analyzing the NFL on ESPN, Salisbury was also a local radio guy in Chicago. He had a mid-day show on WMVP (1000 AM), where he did the typical sports radio talk of offering strongly worded opinions on the sports news of the day. Now that show is gone, but Salisbury will remain on the station in a reduced role, working on Bears pregame shows.
As for me, I live in Chicago and I think I've heard a grand total of about five minutes of Salisbury on the radio. That probably explains why the show didn't work out.
