The 2008 NFL draft is right around the corner, and I know you wouldn't be able to wait until May of 2007 to start thinking about it. So let's talk about some of the top prospects. The Dallas Morning News has the best draft coverage of any newspaper in America (there's not a close second), and they've come up with their very early list of top prospects. In addition, Todd McShay of ESPN said on today's SportsCenter that Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm (pictured) is his No. 1 prospect for next year, with Michigan left tackle Jake Long, USC left tackle Sam Baker, LSU receiver Early Doucet and LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey following closely behind.
My really early pick is Baker. If he had entered this year's draft, I don't think there's any way he would have fallen further than No. 5, where the Cardinals picked Levi Brown. With another year under his belt, he could go all the way up to No. 1. Unless his dad convinces him to play Arena Football.

My early prediction is that the first quarterback picked in the 2008 NFL Draft's surname will begin with "B".

Laugh now... Just wait 'til next year...
Next year's should be a pretty talent heavy draft. Booty, McFadden, Slaton, White, Rice, Brennan, (new robo) Ainge, Chase Johnson, Jonathan Stewart; this would seem to be the makings of an extremely deep draft.
I don't know how they don't put McFadden in that top 5. Look at what he's done in two years. The guys got NFL toughness too. He can easily carry the ball 25 to 30 times in an NFL game. Plus, the versatility. I mean c'mon. How is he not top 5?
McFadden probably is top-5. The blogger just forget about him. He's considered to be a very nice prospect with a rare combination of or size, speed, and field smarts that will make NFL teams drool. So, in the event that he continues to produce, does come out early, and an early pick team needs a RB, I think he'll go pretty fast.
just with a brief glance at the list, it looks like they aren't listing juniors who would have another year of eligibility
can anyone see the falcons having a poor year....can anyone see petrino shipping vick out and bringing Brohm in>? i dono..i just see it..but i dont like it
Brohm takes the Heisman going away...and DaVille wins its'first National Title in football against .........whoever is BCS #2. Remember in December you guys saw it here first.
Chad Henne will be the best out of this group of quarterbacks. He has astrong arm and protypical size. Has started four years and goes to a college where such quarterbacks as Brady, Navarre, Henson, and Griese are in the nfl.
If you only count seniors, I would have to say Jake Long is the best player. But if you cound on the underclassmen declaring, the best player would be either Darren McFadden or Steve Slaton.
What about Nick Hill (QB) Southern Illinois, 6-4, 215 lefty Rocket arm, PLUS outstanding running stats. Smart player. Great field awareness. A regular "Field General" Surely someone will want him in the '08 Draft.
Any thoughts?
