Remember the 7th Floor Crew? They were a rap group made up mostly of members of the Miami Hurricanes football team, and when their song, "7th Floor Crew," came out, it unleashed a bit of a media firestorm. The songs lyrics were, for the most part, things that I can't repeat here, and it of course became national news that college athletes sometimes use obscene language.I'm thankful to Tremendous Upside Potential for reminding me that tight end Greg Olsen, the Bears' first-round pick, and linebacker Jon Beason, the Panthers' first-round pick, were 7th Floor Crew members. Olsen went by G-Reg, and Beason went by Big Beast. Pretty creative.
I think both players were good picks for their teams, and I urge Bears and Panthers fans to celebrate the newest additions by listening to the song, but not if you're at work.
