Adam Carriker played quarterback at Kennewick High School, and his father claims he can throw a football 80 yards. Of course, Kennewick went 0-9 in Carriker's senior year, so he was probably wise to switch to defensive end. As he bulked up for his switch from quarterback to defensive end, Carriker earned the nickname Ivan Drago, after the Russian boxer in Rocky IV. Ivan Drago is even part of his e-mail address. I hope his first words in his first press conference with his new team will be "I defeat all man. Soon I defeat real champion."
Although most people thought he'd play for a 3-4 team, I like the fit of Carriker in St. Louis. He won't get double-teamed much there, and I see him having a big rookie year.

Carriker will do quite well in the NFL. He was the the best DE to suit up for the Huskers in a few years...a few lean years I might add. His supporting cast wasn't up to Husker historical standards in my opinion but I think that actually helped him stand out...I see a Grant Wistrom like career (thats a compliment) Best of luck Adam!

I think Drago will do well because he has a positive attitude and that's half the game. I think he'll impact St. Louis like Wistrom did.

The Rams' rush defense is so bad that anybody under the age of 80 could help them. But then, maybe not. Five years ago they had players who were top DL picks, about five or six, and they still couldn't stop the run. The decline was worrisome with the picks on DL, but nothing much has been done in the interim, with the exception of some free agents, but the Rams, nevertheless should have made the play-offs each of the past two years. No excuse for losing to the Niners twice, two years ago. This guy could become another Grant Wistrom.
