Suppose you're a second-tier ESPN radio host. Maybe one with a past history of antagonizing the blogosophere. You've got millions of listeners, many of whom are simply too lazy to change the channel. How should you spend your Thursday? How about crashing a high-profile blog just because you can. Earlier today, Colin Cowherd decided to celebrate his power and virility by sending all of his listeners to The Big Lead. You may have heard of it--it's one of those edgy, investigative blogs that makes the mainstream media uncomfortable, and its author is a FanHouse contributor. Anyway, a few minutes into this audio, you can hear him order his audience to visit TBL right away, hoping he can shut it down. Cowherd has nothing against TBL, hasn't ever read it. He just wants to prove a point about ... I don't know, his need to prove his power and virility in public. Draw your own conclusions.
I can't even begin to describe what a cheap shot this is. I know that blogs scare people like Cowherd, and I get that if we tangle with them, there might be consequences. That would matter if, you know, Cowherd had any reason for doing what he did. Instead, well, let's just say that history does not look kindly upon bullies and intimidators.
Oh, and make sure to read Deadspin's seething take on the matter.

Don't forget that there's no such thing as BAD publicity. Whatever his motivation, Cowherd just made that blog 10 times more popular that it has ever been.

Don't you guys and Deadspin do this when someone pisses you off. Deadspin is ESPN and you guys are ESPN 2. You get on their asses for what they do, but look how deadspin does its business.
Tell me what is the difference between ESPN's mindset and Deadspin's mindset. They have the same goal in mind. Will tells his minons to jump, what is news, what they can write about, and what sites to visit. ESPN does that. He controls who is good enough to comment on his website. ESPN does that. You piss him off or disagree with him, you will not be able to post and you will pay the price. ESPN does that. Please find me a post where someone disagrees with him.
Leitch is the Vadar/ESPN of the blogs.

Deadspin is nothing compared the the tough guys talking shit on EDSBS. The post on EDSBS are threatening to kill and hurt his wife and kids. Then in a punk move swindle says we do not condone that. He punks out on his readers who give them their precious time. You declare war than punk out. What would you expect from a democrat.

If anyone has a picture of Cowhand there f***ing a Cub Scout or something, make sure you get it to Cornbread Lead, so he can turn the tables on that ho.

Doesn't AOL have better computer kung-fu than ESPNRadio? If someone with some grapefruits were running Fanhouse, we'd already be launching our counterattack... based out of some unprosecutable computer in Bombay, or wherever AOL hired their techies.
Or, Fanhouse can just sit there like p*ssies while some clown on ESPN bends them over and takes them nasty.

Wrecktum-
Having read the entire EDSBS thread (twice, in fact), the only reference to killing cowherd was what some crazy person hopefully will not do.
Direct quote:
"Entry 27, I think that’s a good idea. Slandering Cowherd all over your blogs just gets him more hits. And we don’t want a daily running battle with Cowherd, where he tries to take down a different site every day, and then some crazy runs him over with a car or something, and blogs as a whole get a bad name because of one idiot. I don’t want to go there, either."
So just stop it.

he filed for divorce on March 19th (http://www.jud2.ct.gov/Civil_Inquiry/DspParty.asp). do you think he is having a rough time at home? i guess all of those nights sleeping on the couch makes you a grouchy man in the morning. My guess is that he is going through a mid life crisis and we are all paying for it.

Colin has definately been super annoying lately and I wrote the show last week to say that his mid-life was embarrassing as well as his "fake hip" speak he uses in front of his young producers and side-kicks on the show. If he could see how ridiculous he looks at 43 years old trying to re-live his youth. Loser!!!!!!!!
