Chris Leak REALLY Wants to Be a Carolina Panther

The Carolina Panthers may be flirting with David Carr and giving Joey Harrington the ol' once-over, but there's one quarterback out there that really, really, really wants the Panthers to notice him.

Former Florida Gators QB and Charlotte, NC, native Chris Leak was honored at a Charlotte Bobcats game last week, and when he grabbed the mic, he told the crowd, "I want to thank all my fans here in Charlotte. Hopefully, someday I can bring a Super Bowl back to Charlotte."

Don't hold back, Chris. Let us know how you really feel.

Leak has been getting lots of flak from NFL scouts lately. He's listed at just under six feet, which is considered Muggsy Bogues-like for NFL quarterbacks, he didn't put on a particularly great performance at the scouting combine, and he reportedly scored an 8 on the Wonderlic at some point. Not that a bad Wonderlic score ever hurt Vince Young, but Vince Young isn't listed at 6-0 in the media guide, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

Perhaps this is all part of Leak's plan not to get drafted. That may be the only way he could end up with the Panthers, because John Fox and Marty Hurney don't like to draft quarterbacks. I suppose we all make sacrifices to get the things we really want in life...
