Everybody in St. Louis is worried about the Rams' defense. Everybody else in the football nation is questioning it. Scott Linehan? Meh."The first thing I can say is we're three weeks into free agency," Linehan said Wednesday at the annual NFC coaches' breakfast. "So it's hard to say we've stopped. We've still got a draft coming up. ... You never know, a trade could pop up that we can't refuse."The team has made a number of underwhelming moves on defense this year, like the acquisition of James Hall via trade and the signings of Chris Draft, Mike Rumph, and Lenny Walls. Yawn.
The team is starting off on the wrong foot already with the news that they plan on keeping Will Witherspoon at middle linebacker, even though his natural position is at the weakside and he looked awkward playing in the middle last year.
Though Linehan seems pretty confident in the ability of his defense already, he notes that there's a lot of offseason left. I'm sure the team will focus mainly on defense in the draft, but that's a moot point. The Rams could line up Shawne Merriman, Jason Taylor, Champ Bailey, and Brian Urlacher, and they'd be a bottom-15 defense, because one bad chef can ruin a meal, and the Rams have the worst cook in the league in Jim Haslett.

What an outlook on Jim Haslett. The Rams could have the Fantastic Four as their linebackers and maybe the Rams defense could be better than a bottom tier defense. Remember before Sean Payton came to New Orleans, Jim Haslett was the head coach of the Saints when they won their FIRST playoff game against the Rams a few years ago.
