Giants Bracing For a Michael Strahan Holdout?

According to Pro Football Talk's rumor mill, the Giants may be preparing for Michael Strahan to holdout during training camp. One of their "league sources" claims that Strahan wants more money or to be traded to a team that will give it to him.

A league source tells us that the New York Giants are bracing for a possible training camp holdout from defensive end Michael Strahan.
If this turns out to be accurate, I hope the Giants just do away with him. Trade him for a cornerback, a linebacker or a high first day draft choice. Given the amount of playing time he's seen the last two seasons, I hardly think he's worth a pay raise. At 35, with a broken down body, he's already being overpaid in my opinion.

I'll never knock what Strahan has meant to the Giants both on and off the field, but we all have to realize this is a business. With lingering cap space and incredible defensive end depth, the Giants do not have the assets or need to overpay for an aging veteran.

Strahan is currently scheduled to make $4 million this year and $4 million next year.
