I imagine after reading that headline half of you are saying "huh? who?" while the other half are asking "are you kidding me?" Amazingly and truthfully, I am not kidding you. The Jets really have signed defensive end Andre Wadsworth.Wadsworth has been out of the NFL for seven years now after retiring due to chronic knee problems. Coming out of college he was projected to be the "next best thing." He was selected third overall by the Arizona Cardinals in 1998 and got off to a solid rookie start. Unfortunately it was all down hill from there as he began to have knee issues the following season.
In three short injury filled seasons, Wadsworth collected 96 tackles, eight sacks, one interception and six passes defended. There is literally no telling what, if anything, he can bring to the table in the '07-'08 season. He's been on the shelf a long time and his knee could still be an issue.
Financial terms were not disclosed.

Once great, out of football, hunger for the game...why not take a chance...catch lightening in a bottle...or...Andre wants to give it one more try before he walks away from the game he loves. it is a win win situation. Good luck big guy.
Hey,
We need to try something, anything to get some pressure on the QB. Maybe the ol' man needed a break, and comes back to his self for a season or two. Either way, he can hurt our non-existant pass rush.
I will be taking note of Andre's recent signing with the Jets. My wife and I had the opportunity to stay with him and his wife in Arizone back in 2002 while we were driving out to LA. This guy is the real deal in terms of walking out his faith that he professes. I could discern a genuine love for Jesus Christ that was demonstrated through his active involvement in the lives of others. In other words, he didn't esteem himself to be better than others just because he had played in the NFL. I believe he'll be a great asset to the organization.
I'll be cheering him on!
