At long last, we know Michael Vick's explanation for going through airport security with a water bottle that had a secret compartment: He says the "stash box" in the water bottle was used to conceal jewelry. In his first remarks regarding the incident in which he was investigated and cleared for any wrongdoing regarding the incident, Vick said he had the bottle with a secret compartment for years to carry his jewelry and that he did not know why airport authorities and police suggested there was the scent or remnants of marijuana in the bottle.
Well, isn't that convenient? He doesn't know why there was a scent of marijuana. There are basically two possibilities here: Either airport security was lying about smelling marijuana in the water bottle, or there was marijuana in the water bottle. I tend to believe the latter.

Vick is either incredibly stupid, arrogant, or has horrendous judgement(maybe all three)
I think they were both, yes he uses it to carry his jewelry but he also occasionally uses it to hold his weed. This time, they smelled but had not enough for a test (no need for him to smuggle back weed)
so lets see here, he was cleared of wrong doing... where are stuipd, moronic, knee jerk, sports pundits who wanted to crucify him?

Yes jed, it was racism. Clearly a black athlete accused of having marijuana residue in the secret compartment of a bottle, but not being charged, is an example of racism.
I have come across over a hundred secret compartments in everything from Fritos containers to oil cans in my law enforcement experience, but I have yet to find a single one holding any jewelry.
I have come across many with only the residue of narcotics left. If it's residue of marijuana...I've got nothing. No City Attorney in my city (or most others I would venture) will file a case based on marijuana residue. Not when possession of actual marijuana, less than an ounce, is an on-site Release From Custody citation, very close to a traffic ticket. This means law enforcement will not even arrest for marijuana residue, it does not mean Vick didn't have it.
If it were residue of cocaine base, that's a different story because that's a felony and worthy of the time it takes to arrest/book and fill out approximately 10 forms in triplicate.
With color blinders on, assuming Vick is purple, yet nonetheless related to a brother who has made similar, shall I say poor, life decisions, I would say an objective person would judge that Vick had marijuana residue in the bottle's secret compartment and was either too stoned, too arrogant, or too "judgementally impaired" to realize he should not have it in his hand while going through aircraft security.
Given the circumstances, I would say that you, sir, are the racist one. Tarring underappreciated and overworked airport security with the brush of racism because you are not happy that Vick received negative publicity for a stupid move.
If you want to put your money where your mouth is jed, next time you decide to travel about the country or the world, put your $10,000 Rolex or your wife's diamond earrings into a water bottle during your travels.
yeah, actually I was calling the overreacting, knee jerk media, racist.... like I said, I know you probably can't see racism or probably think the only type of racism comes in the form of the KKK, but there is infact subtle racism out there. I'm sorry that you nuanced enough to see it. You will probably live out you life being completely oblivious to it.
Maybe people should stop focusing on the predjudices that they claim and that people are "all out to get them". Just because it happened to a black guy doesnt mean anything. It could have happened to a white guy in the same scenario and the same results would have been yielded.
