We have some new information on the Joey Porter-Levi Jones fight in Vegas. Las Vegas police cited Porter for misdemeanor battery after he punched Jones in the face at a blackjack table. The police said Porter, a former Steelers linebacker who recently signed with the Dolphins, and Jones, a Bengals tackle, have "a history of trash talking on the field." Doesn't Porter have a history of trash talking on the field with just about every player in the AFC North?
According to a Vegas TV station, you don't get cited in Vegas for a fight unless a police officer actually sees it. So let that be a lesson: If you're going to get into a fight at a casino, look around to make sure no cops are watching.
Both players have some history of fights. Jones was arrested in 2004 for trying to take a baton away from a police officer who was breaking up a bar fight. And Porter was once kicked out of a game before it started for a pre-game fight.
Although the NFL schedule has not been released, the Bengals do play at Miami in 2007. Jones and Porter will likely go head-to-head many times. I highly recommend the league put that one on national television.

@iainrobinson goodell's track record on ALL suspensions. It was 4-6 when he imposed it. Time off if he behaves.

Now thats funny!
I can't believe that Joey Porter found a member of the Bengals who he could fight. Imagine that? A bengals player in a situation involving police?
Yeah, you are right, since the Bengals have alot of off field problems, it gives psychotic a-holes every right to punch them in the face.....
Funny how Porter was quoted in Miami papers saying what a "nice guy" he is, what a freaking jerk...
I really like your reasoning here?!?!?!
I've always wondered who would win in a fight: Joey Porter or Paul "I never met a Gatorade bucket I didn't want to destfroy" O'Neill?
Porter is one dude in the league that will hit you first and very hard, then answer questions later.
Except for Chad Johnson and "House", the Bengals are soft. Word on the street is, Levi cheats at cards and said something about Porter's momma.
LETS GET READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL
LETS GET READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL
Fight may have been in the parking lot.Jones was also missing jewelry and reported to police he was robbed. POrter is,was, and continues to be a thug.
If the fight took place in a Vegas casino there has to be a security video tape of it somewhere. If the officer sees it on the tape can they press charges?
I can't believe there was a Bengals player without a gun and ammo.
I can't believe Porter found a Bengal player without a gun and ammo
Do we really care-throw both these clowns in jail. If they want to be aggressive, how about doing it on the field and EARNING YOUR OUTRAGEOUS SALARIES !! FINE THESE CLOWNS AND MAKE THEM PAY FOR THE COPS WASTED TIME !! Fines should go to the fans as a rebate !!
Listen up...grown men get in fights, it happens. And to those that insinuate that Porter would steal some jewerly from this guy, I mean come on. Did you not see the contract that he just signed. These guys talked trash on the field, it led to this, Porter got hot and popped the guy in the eye. Although, I don't condone his behavior, that's all there is to it. Porter got his misdemeanor, and Jones got his cut eye, the end.
Just goes to show how totally misinformed many NFL fans seemd to be. If they carry guns or weapons they are much more likley to be a Charger, Bear, Raven, and the list goes on. With the exception of Chris Henry, every Bengal off-field incident involved drinking. Drinking people!! Not beating their wives (Chicago), fighting and/or shooting at police officers (SanDiego), Being at "the club" while your buddy is shot dead in cold blood (You pick 'em. Broncos or Bears). Of course we haven't even examined crack dealing, prostitute solicitations, marijuana possessions, dead-beat dads, and the list goes on and on. So continue to cast stones at Cincy if you will. Don't let the facts get in the way.
Vegas..black jack table.. roids rage
(Bungle) "Hit me"
(Peazy) "My pleasure"
que Cincy fans.. running off with Bungle jewels. exit stage left.
I hate to argue with you, JAB, and I am a huge Cincy fan, but not all Bengal arrests had to do with alcohol. Jonathan Joseph was charged with possession, Frostee Rucker - spousal abuse, AJ Nicholson - burglary and grand theft. I am just grateful that Levi had enough sense to let the police take care of this and not take the Bengal arrest count into double digits.
1 year ban please.
This is hilarious...who cares...like someone said earlier, people fight all the time...of ot was sam and joey from Akron Ohio noone would care, lets just see how they deal with it when they play each other down the line
Finally the Dolphins have a tough guy on their team. They haven't had a no B.S. kind of guy in years!
Indeed, I meant substance abuse rather than simply drinking. And yes, two of these arrests, of nine, were as you noted. Again, no ammo or guns were involved. I am not condoning or trivializing this conduct. I am however simply pointing out that the holier than thous who are so quick to pile on the Bengals overlook simliar and worse offenses going on all around the league, in nearly the same numbers for some of these teams. It really is a shame. That is why I would can Marvin if this drama continues again this season. The coach has to set the tone. Why on earth, despite being a talented athlete, is Cris Henry still a Bengal? I would not have let the guy suit up and would have gotten rid of him last year. After four strikes you are definitely OUT! I fault Bengals Management for this.
