Versatile Justin Griffith Visits Green Bay Today

Fullback Justin Griffith will be in town today meeting with the Packers. The 26 year old was not re-signed by the Atlanta Falcons like many expected and is now on the open market. Although the fullback is not used as much in the NFL as it used to be, many consider Griffith to be the best one currently available.

Griffith has proven himself to be quite versatile. Not only can he pave the way for a running back, he has been very effective carrying the ball. He average 4.7 yards per carry over his short NFL career and he's wracked up 378 yards in limited carries. Perhaps even more impressive is his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He hauled in 87 passes for 621 yards and nine touchdowns in his four years with Atlanta.

I am still a fan of the fullback. I think it's an important and overlooked position in the NFL and Griffith just adds a whole new athletic element to it. He can run, catch and block. Players like that, especially in role he serves, are very hard to find. In my opinion he would be a great addition by Green Bay if they can lock him up.
