We mentioned the two traffic incidents involving Andy Reid's sons yesterday, but today it turns out that these incidents were more serious than we previously realized. Witnesses told Plymouth Township police officers that Garrett Reid, 24, was behind the wheel of an SUV that sped down Germantown Pike, ran a red light at Arch Road, and 't-boned' a car driven by a 55-year-old woman.
Police say when they looked inside Garrett Reid's Jeep Liberty, they found drug paraphernalia. So they had Reid take a blood test at a local hospital....
At the same time, not far away, Andy Reid's younger son Britt got into his own trouble.
Police say Garrett called Britt to the scene of the car crash... But investigators say Britt got into an argument with another driver, and during the confrontation a gun was displayed.
We still don't have all the facts, but these are serious allegations. Reid hasn't said anything and the Eagles call it a private matter, but Reid will no doubt have to comment publicly at some point, and the victims in these incidents will likely have something to say, too.

Go figure---he is hooked up with Philly isn't he? Maybe he and his family can get jobs with the Bengals.

Andy Reid's children need a good spanking. Spoiled little brats, figure that their Dad is a big time coach so they can do whatever they please. Tell Andy to put them in training camp. They obviously need some good old fashioned hard work. Make no mistake, this is really serious, these children are very much in need of severe discipline.

Fairly typical for this area (Montomery County PA).
Jerkoff self important rich kids that have not worked a day in their lives and still live with there parents at 24 years old putting everyone at risk with bad behavior in their expensive cars.
And the parents are just as much to blame.
The mantra is "They are good kids they would never hurt anyone".
Then the investigation finds them responcible but somehow they become troubled kids that need our support instaed of the criminals that they really are.
All too typical around here.
Andy Reid is obviously oblivious to what is going on around him....how about the last Eagles play he called for example?
Or he is a just a jerk like his sons.
Eff Them
Go Bears !

As a parent, I really can't comment because I don't know what kind of trouble my own will get into. You just pray you raised them with a good head on their shoulders. Being a parent is the hardest job in the world.

As a parent and an Eagles fan, my prayers go out to the Reid family. These two incidents are just the most recent for the Reid boys. The radio reports mentioned hypodermic needles found in the car which is an indication that this young man is in deep, deep trouble. This story is gonna hurt like hell for the Reid family and will be huge in the coming weeks.

As a huge Eagles fan and parent of children that age. My heart goes out to the Reid Family. The media lives for stuff like this, how about trying a new approach. Give the family compasion and support instead of negitive comments. As a aprent I know the fear and hurt Andy is going through. Give the family some slack, we canot be held accountable for what 24 year old Man does, even if he is the child of someone famous. Look at your own faults you have made in your life and the faults and concerns your adult children brought home God Bless you Andy and Family.

Andy Reid should be fired! What kind of role model is he for his young players when his own kids are drug users? Just another example of bad decisions by Reid.

Be careful what you say here especially, if you have children because you never know what your own will do. I have four children. Two in college one going next year and one about to start high school. So far they have been pretty good but I still worry about that phone call. You can only do so much and then they have to take responsibility for their own actions. I am a diehard Steeler fan and loathe the iggles but being a parent is my first priority and I do feel for Andy Reid.

I can't believe people are blaming Andy for this. What parents can control their kids at that age? Why would anyone even bring up his tenure in Philly could be ending? If we lose Andy Reid than Philly will not be a good team! He got rid of cancer T.O. while everyone was crying about it and we were better for it. I support Andy and hope his sons stop embarrasing him but he better not get fired over this.

Very true. Spoiled rich kids out of control. Andy needs to treat his kids just like any other kid would be treated who broke the law. They need to be punished. It is unfortunate that these kids take advantage of the fact that their parents have money and do the stupid things that they do. It is just like all of professional sports. Because they have money, they think they are above the law, and sooner or later their parents have to bail them out. Hopefully they learn, but very unlikely. I remember Buddy Ryan's kids were complete assholes in West Chester, Pa at the Eagles training camp. They were constantly getting into fights at the local hangout called the Rat where Jaworski and Spagnola used to go for a beer. It was all pushed under the carpet with a few bucks to the local cops. Jaws and Spagnola had to know about it, but it was swept under the rug. Now, low and behold, Buddy Ryan's kid is looking for a head coaching job in the NFL. Typical of pro sports these days, if you want to be involved, you have to be a thug, not just the players, but coaches too!

I am also a huge Eagles Fan. Parents can only do so much for their children. Being a parent is the hardest thing. Its the choices that the children make not the parent. We teach our children right from wrong and when they get older we hope and pray that they to will make right choices. My prayers go out to Andy and his family. And for the negative comments you should never judge someone unless you have walk in their shoes.

I hope Reid can reel those to idiot kids in. If they are using Heroin, they are in real trouble. It has an 89% failure rate. Sounds like the to kids have taken advantage of their parents kindness. Send them to Glen Mills!!!

My prayers go out to this family. Heroin addicts come from ALL walks of life. Addiction is a sickness, not the mistake of pareting. I only hope that the Reids are more concerned with helping their sons with their problems then they are about the publicity. They both need help, not a fancy lawyer to come up with an excuse and get them off. That isn't helping them. Ask Robert Downey Jr. It took jail for him to realize what he was doing to himself

Andy reed is like any other parent involved heavily in his own rise to fame and fortune while he looses sight of the real imporatence in his life. His kids didn't just get out of control this week they had to be getting out of control while he was busy paying attention to his career. He made his choice and these are the profits. Thank God that his kids didn't KILL someone in these two incidents. One son pulls a gun to show power and the other nearly takes the life of an inocent woman who is just going about the daily business of every day living. Both kids driving daddy provided gas sucking hogs on the road while under the influence of the idle time provided by an income fruitful enough to take the motivation for economic survival out of his childrens life. Do they need to find a job? Do they have any responsibilities? Have they ever worked toward their own survival? Have they any idea what goes on in the real world outside of Daddy's surreal world of fat sports?
Pay attention to your kids at all stages... You life should be about what you create not what you make.

I'm from the Philadelphia area and I want to point out a few things. First of all let's stop referring to them as kids. The one is 24 and I believe the other is 28, they are full grown adults. I myself am pretty freaking pissed off about this incident and here is why:
1. Guy on heroin runs a red light and hits a 55 year
old lady. He also has heroin needles in his car,
admits to using it and also admits to
speeding.
2. Second guy pulls a gun on someone driving a van,
later on a shotgun, ammunition, bags with cocaine
residue, four small white pills and pharmacy
bottle with pot in it are recovered from his car.
AND WHO GOT ARRESTED? NOBODY. WHAT THE HELL?
I can assure you that if I got out of my car and pointed a gun at someone I would be hunted down by a swat team of some sort and thrown in jail. Having guns and drugs in your car is a crime charges don't need to be pressed by an individual for that. I think i've found the one thing that police are actually afraid of MONEY. As far as I'm concerned Andy Reid was not involved in this incident except for the platinum hand gun that was found in his house and not registered to anyone in his family.
As far as all you people giving so much sympathy to Andy Reid I think you are crazy and missing the point.
If someone you knew had a gun waived that them or had to be airlifted to a hospital because they were hit by a speeding heroin addict would you think...oh I feel so sorry for his family and what they must be going though? Why don't you show sympathy for the guy who got a gun waived in his face and thought he was going to get shot? Arrests need to be made in this case NOW.

FIRE HIM? FOR WHAT ? I GUESS EVERYONE IS PERFECT HUH ? IT'S A SHAME THAT ANDY WAS OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT WAS GOING ON IN HIS OWN HOUSE BUT IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME TO ALMOST EVERYONE.THERE IS NO ONE IN YOUR FAMILY THAT HAS DONE WRONG ? MANY PEOPLE SACRIFICE TIME WITH THIER FAMILY TO BUILD THIER CAREER AND REAP THE CONSEQUENCES. HIS "KIDS" ARE ADULTS AND ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIER OWN ACTIONS. ARE THEY SPOILED BRATS...PROBALY...DO I KNOW THAT...DO YOU ? GIVE THE GUY AND HIS FAMILY SOME SLACK BECAUSE IF IT WAS YOU YOUR STANCE WOULD BE DIFFERENT. I'M NOT FORGETTING THE INNOCENT PERSON WHO GOT HIT OR THE ROAD RAGE INCIDENT (IT TAKES TWO FOR ROAD RAGE). YOU ARE HEARING ONLY THE GUY WHO HIRED A LAWYER ALREADY TO GET PAID...NOT GET JUSTICE. THATS MY OPINION BASED ON WHAT I'VE SEEN OR DONE AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. BE MAD AT THE OFFENDERS NOT WHAT OFFENDED YOU.

RE: ABOUT THE PENDING ARRESTS-THE WORD IS PENDING. I KNOW SOME OFFICERS IN THE PLYMOUTH TWNSHIP DEPT. AND THEY ARE QUITE GOOD. IT'S A FIRST RATE DEPT THAT TAKES PRIDE IN THIER APPEARANCE AND TRAFFIC SAFETY AS SHOWN IN HAVING DEDICATED HWY PATROL CARS. REMEMBER THIS ISN'T A "BIG CITY" DEPT. THE DEFENDENTS AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE. THERE IS NO RUSH. THEY ARE GOING TO DO IT RIGHT WITH WARRANTS AND INTERVIEWS TO ESTABLISH THIER P/C. BECAUSE WHEN THIS GOES TO COURT YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT THE REIDS ARE GOING TO REPRESENTED BY THE BEST LAWYERS AVAILABLE AND THE SMALLEST PAPER WORK FLAW RESULTS IN LACK OF CREDIBILTY ON THE POLICE. YOU CAN THANK OJ FOR THAT.THEY HIT THE HOUSE AND VEHICLES THAT NIGHT WITH WARRANTS SO DONT THINK THEY ARE GETTING "FAVORFUL" TREATMENT BUT WE WOULDN'T BE TALKING ABOUT THIS IF IT WASN'T "SPECIAL" OR THEY WERE JUST AVERAGE DEFENDENTS. THE GUN INCIDENT HAS TO INVESTIGATED...YOU WOULDN'T WANT ME TO TELL A COP THAT YOU THE PERSON READING THIS PULLED A GUN ON ME AND LOCK YOU UP WITH OUT INVESTIGATING IT FIRST. RELAX THIS ISNT TV WHERE EVERY ONE GETS LOCKED UP AND FOUND GUILTY IN ONE HOUR.

Bottom line, no matter how much of an Eagles fan you are, how difficult it may be to raise "kids" (they're 21 & 24yrs old!!), no matter how strict of a 'mormon' house Tammy tries to run...we all know that most other 'suspects' would have been arrested on the spot, or certainly by now. If these 'boys' do not spend any time in jail, it is not only a crime, it is a SIN and incredibly NOT just. It will also tell them and the world that they can be free to risk all of our lives who drive those roads! Be afraid, be very, very afraid!!

Don't get excited. These two young men are too connected to ever be arrested or punished for what they have done. If they were sons from a poor family that would be a different story.

The reason that Andy Reid's children didn't get arrested is because the police officer who have arrested the Reid children would probably get hate mail or harrasment for doing his duty.
