Before reporters were able to pepper McNabb with questions, he set the record straight."The so-called rumors are false," the quarterback said, appearing at a Chunky's Soup news conference. "I'm a Philadelphia Eagle and will continue to be a Philadelphia Eagle for years to come. And, hopefully, to retire as an Eagle.Donovan McNabb isn't going anywhere. I feel slightly guilty for fueling a bit of the McNabb to Detroit fire yesterday over at The 700 Level. The whole thing started with one random writer in Ann Arbor thinking, "Gee, wouldn't it be awesome if Detroit could get McNabb!" I picked up the story and said I thought it would be a horrible idea and made light of the idea of Brady Quinn QBing in Philly. On my drive to work this morning I even heard sports radio in Philadelphia reporting the "rumor." I'm glad that's all over with.
"I do not want to be traded. I plan on getting myself back healthy to be ready for the opening of the season, to start and to be ready to go."
McNabb said there was no feud with Jeff Garcia. He touched on the fact that every injured player was disappointed they couldn't travel to New Orleans for the big playoff game, not just Donovan. He downplayed Reid "shutting down" his press conference last week. As usual, Donovan McNabb was all class. There is no controversy. When Donovan is healthy, he is the Eagles QB.
The Eagles official website is all over McNabb in Miami with links to audio, transcripts, and video of McNabb's press conference as well as interviews on the NFL Network, Sirius, and ESPN.

The Eagles, nor will anyone else ever have a player with more class and integrity than they will find in Donovan McNabb. I just don't understand how all of these controversies get re-ignited year after year with such a solid player/man. I understand Philly loves controversy, but c'mon, this isn't New York really ... is it? They will be sorry when they finally run him out of town much like San Diego when Drew Brees wins a Superbowl for his new city.

Donovan McNabb is a class guy except when Rush Limbaugh's observation of Donovan's play had Rush leave ESPN for EIB. Donovan and Tiger if you guys can't handle jokes or criticism from White humanoids stay out of the kitchen.

Yeah, yeah. Donovan is so wonderful. So how come the Eagles are not at the Superbowl, year after year? Each time they do get close it is with ANOTHER person at the lead. Donovan is always getting hurt when he starts losing games. Does no one else see a pattern? He is not that great, get over him.

McNabb is one of the top 3 QB's in the NFL and anyone who thinks that the Eagles would be better off without him is a fool

Everybody should realize Donovan McNabb is a con man. He wants you to believe he is a class act, but in reality he's a crybaby. T.O. did nothing wrong it was all McNabb just being super jealous.

Donovan McNabb has a better chance of going to the bears if they give up a good DB but McNabb is one of the best in the leauge and i dont see him going anywhere. I never even heard the Detroit rumor.
