Donovan McNabb seems like a nice guy. You'd hate to see something like this happen to him. Getting shipped to the Detroit Lions is like getting sent to Leavenworth. But that's the rumor that's being circulated, both in the Ann Arbor News and in Miami during Super Bowl festivities, that the Eagles could send McNabb to the Lions for the second overall pick in the draft, and in turn use that pick for Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn.McNabb will speak publicly for the first time since his November knee injury today, and he might be asked about the vocal minority of Eagles fans who would like to see him sent packing. We already know McNabb has some gripes. Would the Eagles really want to get rid of him and build the franchise around a rookie?
That seems highly unlikely. The Eagles could be a legitimate Super Bowl contender in 2007, and bringing in a rookie quarterback would be a rebuilding move. The real story here may be how hungry NFL fans are for any kind of information about their teams. The Eagles have been out of it for two weeks, and the Lions have been out of it for six years. Fans of both teams just want to hear something juicy, and McNabb to the Lions definitely fits.

Next year Phila having Mcnabb healthy, with Garcia as back-up would put them again in contention for the superbowl, why mess with that.

All these attacks on Donovan are senseless and stupid. He is one of the very best.
Hey Patriot Fans, Hate to tell you: If Donovan were your quarterback you would be in the Super Bowl
Hey Chicago fans: yould would have been undefeated
and yes, The Colts would have had a better passing game with Donovan
Thank God he is with the Eagles:)

Pull the trigger on that deal before the Eagles go the same route the Sixers went when they tried to move Allen Iverson, what a soap opera that was!!! Donovan McNabb will recover from his current injury but you are just kidding yourselves if you think he will be the same "Donovan". He has been here long enough, had some good years even some GREAT years but he is becoming "injury-prone" and it is time to put the "Donovan McNabb Era" to rest before we witness a good quarterback, no check that, Great quarterback become a liability and start screaming, "Should-a, Could-a, and What-if?." Yesterday's "History", Tommorrow"s a "Mystery" and Today is just that, "NOW!

Let's face it, Rush Limbaugh got it right! McNabb is a media fabricated, over hyped, over paid underacheiver. He's prone to injury and chokes when the game is on the line. Now he's even a crybaby! Giving up a number 2 draft pick straight up for McNabb doesn't make any sense. Throw in Michael Westbrook and a third or fourth round pick and that would make this type of deal a lot more enticing.

Poor Donavan. He Has been abused since Philly drafted him. Ried is not about to give up his franchise quarterback over an injury. Correl Buchalter's knee was much worse and he did ok this year.

Matt Millen would not be smart enough to make this deal and fortunately Joe Banner, Andy Reid and Jeff Laurie are not dumb enough to make that deal. The only people who would make this deal in Phila. are the same idiots who booed when Donovan was drafted and not the pot head Ricky Williams.....

I sure hope this is all B.S.
As a huge fan of the Eagles I think this would be a disaster.
McNabb has been awesome for the Eagles and I am thankful for all that he has done for the team.
The Eagles are not ready to rebuild.
With a healthy McNabb next year (with Garcia as back-up) and a healthy J.Kearse as well, the Eagles should be a favorite to go deep in the play-offs.

Id do it if I was the Eagles brass...You can sign Garcia for the next year or two and give Quinn a chance to learn the system..McNabb is a choker and will NEVER win the big game..Plus Im not sure that whole team is behind him..Garcia proved he can win there so do it now...
