When CBS took it back to the studio, Boomer Esiason clearly looked miffed that Belichick didn't expound more on his team's play. The next day, Esiason expounded on his thoughts in an interview with Newsday:
"I was pretty disgusted with Belichick," he said. "I've interviewed him on my MSG show. It's hard. It's really hard. I don't think he does it on purpose. I just think he doesn't know any better. I just thought it was unprofessional."
Esiason left a message Sunday night for Wilcots, a former teammate on the Bengals.
Among other things, he said, "I'm surprised you didn't strangle him."
It's hard to blame Belichick, though. What's he supposed to do? Break into a rendition of Peyton Paradise?

It gets a little old having these writers cutting down the Patriots......Is it jealousy?........Thia team has been fantastic durinc the 2000's......I'm not proud of some of the post game reaction that some of the teamates have exhibited but that doesn't make the whole team bad.........When your team can reach four championship games in six years, come back and talk to me about how "bad" the Patriots are.....

Scott, you moron, they are a dynasty. They won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years (like the 90s Cowboys) and would've won a 4th this year if not for some very shady circumstances that went down in the cozy, HOT RCA Dome. They also won 21 games in a row, a spectacular feat that the rest of you can't seem to get a handle on. It's never been done in modern pro football and it never will be done again. Class, class, class, that's all these posters can talk about the last few days. What's with this obsession? Like I asked someone else, is it really jealously rearing its head in another form? Is it Indy fans can't express their jealousy, and they're trying to hide it, because those 3 Super Bowls just eat at them? Enough about "class," Scotty and the rest of you hicks. You don't even know (or won't admit) that you have the most classless guy in the NFL, your GM Bill Polian. Did you people know good ole Bill heard that the flu was going through the Pats, so he had the heat in the RCA Dome cranked way up? Yes, I know, they used to do that in Boston Garden, and the Pats, Steelers, and other teams had supposedly let their field freeze before big games, but this is a lot more devious, because the Pats players were having trouble keeping fluids in them, and you very well could have had a Cory Stringer situation here. Imagine one of those big players, de-hydrated but refusing to come out in closing seconds, then collapsing later. Luckily, the Pats had the sense to take out the players who were in trouble (lucky for them, and lucky for the Colts, too), some of them important defensive players who had to be replaced by guys even Pats fans had barely heard of. You wanna call turning the heat up fair play, go ahead. But don't tell me the Colts have "class," too. You can't have it both ways. This was more than about players keeping their footing. This was a health issue. Not that any of you give a rat's #$%^ as long as you finally won.

New England is a fabulous team, and IMO, Tom Brady is the best quarterback in the league. People hate to see the same team win, so there may be a little jealousy here.
Still, where there'e smoke there's fire. Two weeks in a row, Bellicheck's behaviour has been questioned. He is now sitting at home. That is punishment enough, don't you think?

For all of you out there that accuse New England of having no class I got two words for you. "Get Real!" You want to talk about no class in the NFL look at guys like Shawn Merriman with his ridiculous dance(the Pats gave the Chargers a taste of their own medicine and LT didn't like it BOO-freakin'-HOO)and problems off the field, TO with his mouth and ridiculous endzone celebrations, Chad Johnson and the Bengals(I don't need to say anything more about the Convict Crew), Reggie Bush taunting Urlacher, Denny Green after the Cardinals/Bears game, Larry Foote of the Steelers stomping after every play he makes. Do I need to go on? Do you accuse the coaches of those guys of having no class because they let their players get away with that crap on the field? NO! It's a double standard because it's easy to pick on a team because you don't like that fact that they keep on winning and beat your team. Brady and Manning had a exchange after the game and then Brady ran off the field. It wasn't Brady's spotlight and he was upset about losing so he went to the locker room. BB talked to Dungy and he had a brief encounter with Manning. So freakin what! You think all the Patriots should shower praise on the Colts for winning? Maybe both teams should line up and shake each others hands like little league. I didn't see the Colts players get together and give the Pats a congratulations cheer like we did when we were kids. GROW UP! This is pro sports. You wanna knock a coach and a team because they didn't lose graciously??? That stuff works when your 8, not so much when your making millions to go out and win games. I don't want to see the team I root for and spend money on their merchandise act like it's no big deal to lose a game. I want to see some emotion. I want to know that they actually give a crap about winning and losing and not just how fat their bank account is. All you cry baby fans of past teams that have been beaten by the "dynasty" will always find something to harp on the Pats about. You will never be impartial and admit how good the team and coach is. I'm a huge Pats fan and was pissed that they lost, but I got over it and admit that the Colts offense abused the Pats D in the second half. They won the game. Their going to the Super Bowl. I'll wait until next year for the Pats. Because in the end for me it's just a game. But for the players it is their job, and nobody likes to fail in their job. If you were selling a product and a customer went to one of your competitor would you call them up on the phone and congratulate them. I don't think so. The Pats show more class than most organizations in the league and that pisses you all off. So when you see a chance to blow something out of proportion you all attack. One more thing to Esiason. You going sit there and say you are disgusted with BB and tell me that not once during your career when your team lost you didn't throw your helmet, or spew profanity, or maybe snub an opposing player at the end of a game. Yeah right! You know you did it may just not have been on camera, or maybe it's because your team and coaches were never in the spotlight like the Pats of this decade have been. "Get Real."

I don't care about those blowhards on CBS -- Simms doesn't even know Assante Samuel has no "s" on the end of his name. Plus, did they make a peep about that phantom "roughing the passer" call @ the end of the game? What a joke that was. As soon as it's over we hear "The biggest comeback in the history of the championship!" and "Two African-American coaches in the Super Bowl!" The NFL got what it wanted. The Pats didn't quite get jobbed like we did last year in Denver, but it was close. We'll be back. Go Bears.

COME ON BOOMER
THE IDIOT REPORTER DIDN'T ASK ANY INFORMATIVE QUESTIONS ANYWAY? HE SHOULD HAVE ASKED THE COMMISIONER HOW COULD HE LET THE OFFICALS MAKE SO MANY BAD CALLS IN 1 GAME , COME ON IF THAT WAS PAS INT. ON TROY BROWN THEN THE WORLD TRULY IS FLAT. AND TO NOT CALL PASS INT. ON CALDWELL ATTEMPT IN THE END ZONE IS A FARCE(HAD TO KICK A FG INSTEAD OF 1ST AND GOAL AT THE 1), ON THOSE 2 CALLS ALONE THEIR IS A SWING OF 8 POINTS . I BELIEVE THE OFFICALS CALL THE GAMES THE WAY THE LEAGUE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE OUTCOME SORT OF LIKE THE WWE ( COMMISOIONER KNOWS THE THE WINNER BEFORE HAND, JUST MAKE IT LOOK GOOD) AND IF THAT'S THE CASE THE BEARS HAVE NO CHANCE FEB 4 .
BECAUSE THE COLTS WILL WIN AND PEYTON WILL BE THE MVP. THE LEAGUE JUST WANTS THE SPOKESMAN(DIRECT TV) ON TOP NOT BE LABELED AS THE AROD OF FOOTBALL
AND MOST IMPORTANT I AM A CARDINALS FAN AND I MUST SAY TO MR. BOOMER HE CAN NOT BE ANY MORE DISUGTED IN ANYONE THAN WE CARD FANS ARE , WITH BOOMER'S PLAY HERE PURELY SECOND RATE

Count me as someone who thinks there is a middle road here. Yes, the Patriots have been a dynasty that has put up some of the great performances in Super Bowl and playoff history, as well as displaying guys like Brady, Branch and Seymour who seem to be really classy. And, Yes, Belichick is a massive jerk whose lack of class when pushing reporters, blowing off Peyton at the end of a great game, and generally enjoying making the business of dealing with him miserable sometimes filters down to some of his players. This isn't a zero-sum game.

If he wins the super bowl every body is going to call him the greatest player to ever live wich i dont think is true because take marvin and reggie away and he wouldn't be any thing at least brady made his reciever well i guess there is only one thing to say cant wait for next year because the bears didnt deserve it either.

BB is a class act. So what if he does not give long drawn out answers his record speaks for itself. How many other coaches have the family along with them for games on the sidelines with players. GO PATS. Watch out next year because they will win it all.

Hey all you Pats fans, welcome to OUR world. While you guys were constantly sucking out loud for years my Cowboys were experiencing reprisals and double standard officiating by the league to knock them down a peg or two. Despite the NFL's desire for parity a few teams get their act together and rise to the top for an extended period of time. Having said that, your guys have enjoyed a remarkable period of squirrely-assed lucky breaks unseen since the Raiders of the 1970s. Just look to the Pats - Chargers game.
Phantom balls just magically popping out into the hands of Patriot players at just the exact right time...holy cripes what dumbassed luck, but I digress.
The NFL doesn't want dynasties and they will use whatever devices they can to ensure not to have one.
(Like when my Cowboys got shafted in their quest to their fourth straight SB due to hyperclose officiating, etc,,)It's tough when everyone hates your guts. Welcome to the neighborhood.

it was a good game, I am so sad that pats lost, but it realy was a phenominal effort by the colts and especially manning. I knew there was too much time left on the clock when gostkowski hit the go-ahead field goal...oh well, there is always next year.
brady wil be back, I hope he is at elast a little pissed, bruschi wil probably be gone, im not sure how much time dillon has left, asante samuel is up for free agancy so its actually good that he didnt make the pro bowl. Its good we got that other draft pick from seattle. We need a good line backer and a good corner in the first round and pick up a few free agents and we will be back to the superbowl

two things -
1. i think the colts won fair and square and let us not dish out any excuses. colts wanted it more than the pats, came back from 18 points down and put 38 points on the team with 2nd least points allowed.
2. for people complaining about BB, wake up and go to the Patriots website and see his press conferences at the end of each game. Every one of them is the same - he has few words, monosyllable tone and a very dull voice. if you were to mute and watch the video, you cannot differentiate between press conferences after games that were won or lost. so, get real. he does not give an eloquent speech after a win and mumble after a loss. he gives a mumble both the times.

I can take the fact that Bill's post game interviews are not full of many words. The only thing that bugs me about the whole situation is that he just blew past Manning, when he went to shake hands with him. I mean the Pats are definately a classy organization, Bruschi went up to Manning afterwards and congratulated him. But just a little hand shake wouldn't have killed BB.

Hello #7. I love it when someone tells a person that they don't know how to spell in a sentence that is itself flawed (you should have used "tells" not "tell"). Now, someone find something wrong with my comment and make me feel foolish.
