You couldn't script it any better. At home in the dome vs. the hated New England Patriots with 55,000 sceaming Colts fans smelling a trip to their first ever Super Bowl since the team has been in Indianapolis. Rodney Harrison is out. The Colts are the healthiest they have been all season, and the defense is playing better than ever.
The point is, this is the Colts time to shine. This is time for Peyton to pick up the slack, and get the job done. There's no more excuses, there's no tomorrow, and there's no second chances. The time in now, and if the Colts don't win this game, they may never get a better chance in the Peyton Manning era. They beat the #2 team last week and proved they can win on the road. Now they get redemption against their hated foes, and if they do advance on to the Super Bowl, and win, there will be no but's, and there won't be any question to who the best team in the NFL is.
Playing New England is never fun, but if the Colts do go all the way this year, no one wants to hear "The Colts won, but the Chargers did their dirty work by beating the Pats."
We're healthy, they're not, we're at home, they're on the road, they've done it before, and we haven't.
There's no tomorrow, there's no second chances. It's time for Peyton and the Colts to win, right now!
You just can't script it any better.

I think that if the Pats can come back from behingd the Chargers and win, then they should be going to the Super Bowl, not Indy. Also Tom Brady has experianced 3 Super Bowls and Payton Manning has none.

I think the Colts have one of the best QBs to ever play the game. I want to see Peyton Manning win a Super Bowl before he becomes one of the old guys that people want to retire. I'm not a Colts fan, but I am a Manning fan. He's just a great player.
There's a lot of anomousity towards the Patriots because they have won three of the seven Super Bowls this century. There's a lot of "spread the wealth" sentiment going on.
They tend to forget that the team had made the Super Bowl twice before ever winning one. Each time they went against the best team in the NFL and never really had a chance to win (McMahon's Bear's and a younger Favre's Packers).
The Patriots were clearly outplayed by the Chargers, but were able to capitalize on SD's mistakes to secure a win. The Chargers gave away that game, but that's how football is. Like they say, "Any given Sunday."
The Patriots can beat the Colts, but it will not be an easy victory. The Patriots are good at making a team pay for their mistakes. The Patriots also have a pretty good team.
The Colts have a great team. As long as they do not make the critical mistakes, they can win. I think the Colt's problem is that their team is not the best in all areas. Some teams have better offenses, defenses, special teams, coaching, etc.
The Patriots are very good at exploiting those weaknesses, but they can be beat.

Next time you try to insult get it right....Loser

#7- I'm not actually a Colts fan, I just can't stand the idiocy of fans and the media who blindly worship the Patriots without cease. If New England wins this game, reading any sort of NFL-related article will be unbearable for six months with all the writers and fans lining up to kiss Brady and Belichick's you-know-whats

It is unbearable because the pats have won 3 championships. The Cowboys went through the same thing in the ninties. So ask yourself do people give them praise blindly or could it be that the patriots deserve it? I find it more unbearable that there are teams out there that get praise and have not won a damn thing. When you are a winner there are people that get cold and cranky in the shadow of greatness.I guess I dont have to insult you there Jesse to read what you have presented does it for me.Everyone down on the Patriots will have to keep speaking caustic words and use their envy as a reason. To all...please feel free to bask in the glow of greatness!

The Colts are either going to beat the Patriots because the Colts foind a way to beat the Patriots defense or the Patriots will find a scheme to send Peyton Manning back home saying "Curses foiled again."

Here we go.
The COLTS D-Line had better get pressure on Brady and force NEW ENGLAND to keep a TE in for help. Brady hasn't been able to utilize the TE's too much because of the fierce pressure he's been facing. If the PATS physical O-LINE controls the line of scrimmage then the PATS will put up at least 35 points. THis INDY defense is comparable to the JETS in the wild card weekend. Brady picked them apart in the 1st drive and was a dropped 3rd down pass for a 1st down to Gaffney in doing the same thing on their second touch. Dillons fumble on the 3rd drive made it a heavyweight fight and Brady and the Pats just kept their "Stick to it attitude" and sent the Jets home. Last week the TE's had to stay in and help the O-line. While Brady tried to get the ball to the BIG FREAK WATSON that's when he had problems. Give Watson a clean route having a LB cover him and he goes for 8 catches for 145 yds and 2 TD'S.
One other thing: This PATS defense let up an average of under 15 points a game setting a new team record and approaching the "Air of greatness" that was the 86' Bears. They may be banged up but hey have been all year and that's given the replacements plenty of time to gel and learn their assignments. Lest we not forget that Rodney went out eatly in the November game and the PATS still had the ball down 7 late in the 4th quarter. Add to that in November that Brady was still learning a brand new receiving corps. and that gave INDY the edge. THis game could get real ugly as the offense is a well oiled machine and is a different team inside on a fast track. Brady isn't undefeated inside because he wins alone, he brings the talent level up for all the players around him.
This Pats team is fast on defense and faster on offense. The front 7 will have to get MANNING moving in the pocket and make him think on the go when he becmomes just an average QB. The front 7 will stop the run and INDY can't run the stretch run all the time as it is their best weapon so they will have to run it up the gut to set up MANNINGS play action skills. This will force 2nd and long putting the COLTS offense in a predictible down and distance that BELECHICK has been schemeing for all week and thats where MANNING will see a defense that will make him question his reads and force a little delay in the timing of routes and then the mistakes happen. The passing game has some gawdy numbers but when you play the sisters of the poor in the AFC for you're division foes you should put up some big numbers.
Brady has the ability to change the offense in the middle of a quarter or even a drive. Second quarter last week 1:43 left and the PATS down by 11. The Chargers had their foot on the PATS throat and Brady stood up and punched them right in their snot pumper. That told the Chargers they we're in for a long fight and better be up for it which they weren't. Once the steroid freak hurt his knee and Phillips pulled a MANNY HAMMY then the air went out of the Chargers game. Marty panicked and wasted timeouts and the rest is history. The PATS DID NOT STEAL TTHE GAME, THEY PLAYED TO WIN. THE CHARGERS AND MARTY PLAYED NOT TO LOOSE AND THEIRS THE DIFFERENCE. Brady comes to play and win evry game and that's why he'll go down as the GREATEST QB EVER TO PLAY IN THE NFL.
To the rest of the league:
Don't hate the PATRIOTS because they win the right way:
Superior coach.
excellent front office.
players that buy into the system and work hard and don't cheat the system.
53 players who care for each other and play as a team.
The Patriots should be admired for all the years they've been showing the NFL how to run a franchise. Slowly the rest of the league is catching on and it's up to the NFL to get tough on STEROIDS to make sure the parity they want is acheived at every level not just on a team level. The NFL has just about acheived their parity level (at least in the NFC) but it's not fair to the SEYMOURS, TAYLORS et al. that play a clean game naturally that a STEROID freak like MERRIMAN can win awards after cheating. If for nothing else didn't the NFL learn a thing from the LYLE ALZADO tragedy? What else do they need? It's a joke that players are suspended 4 games and then nothing else is done. Go to the PRO BOWL keep the awards get endorsements and be a role model for kids. Big guys with big muscles who can copy the SHAQ million dollar smile have the NFL cowering to them. The NFL must step up and challange the players union to do the right thing and get on board for a tougher STEROID penalty.

Hey Colts fans. This is not going to be easy. It is not a good idea to get your hopes up. I think our best chance of beating the Patriots will be if the Patriots get lost going to the Dome today.

After reading all these comments I have to say to #3 Rob G, well said! I would love to see the Colts finally get there, I believe the TEAM is going to step up for Peyton Manning because they want a win for him. Either way, enjoy the game!

The Patriots are "hated" for the same reason the Yankees are, UCLA basketball used to be and A. J. Foyt, Bobby Knight, and most of the super wealthy will probably always be. They are all successful at what they do, do it far better than most, and do it consistantly. That creates frustration for their foes and envy in those who can't or won't do as well.
The Patriots shouldn't be hated. They should be admired. They represent the challange, the mountain, the goal, the obsticle or whatever you want to call it. The team that beats them in the playoffs has accomplished something. Today the Colts will do just that!!
The Pats are great, but their trail ends today. In a few hours I will be part of the crowd helping to see that is done. Loud and Proud and Louder yet. It won't be so close as most think. COLTS 30 PATRIOTS 20
And then one more win! tgf

Hold on tight Colt's fans cuz there is going to be some real boner calls that go NE's way today. I have been an AFC fan for over thirty years and every time that team plays in the post season there is nothing but controversy and bad calls that change the game result.
From the rest of us fans in the NFL to any team playing NE in a playoff game you have our deepest sympathy. Good luck Colts, your going to need it.
