Everywhere Kansas City Chiefs fans are thanking the 49ers for spoiling Denver's shot at the playoffs. The 49ers went into Mile High and upset the Denver Broncos knocking them out of the playoffs. Thanks to the 49ers defense and Frank Gore.
The 49ers finished their season at 7-9 and went all the way down to two minutes remaining in overtime to get their seventh and final win. The 49ers defense abused rookie quarterback Jay Cutler all game, at one point knocked him out of the game, but Cutler still did what he could to get the Broncos the win but the 49ers defense wouldn't have any of it. Twice the Broncos had the ball inside the five and both times the 49ers defense clamped down and the Broncos walked away with threes. On the offensive side of the ball for the 49ers it was once again Frank Gore who finished the day with 153 yards rushing to not only surpass Garrison Hearst as franchise's leading rusher in a season, but also he took the NFC rushing crown with 1695 yards on the season.
The 49ers can capitalize on this season and head into next with their heads up high. They have a good nucleus with Alex Smith, Frank Gore and Vernon Davis and they also have 41 million in cap space and eight picks in the first four rounds of the draft. Things are only going to get better in Ninerland.

Hopefully the Niners will use this seasons success as inspiration for a winning attitude for the following seasons to come!

I am wondering first of all, how much the 49er's paid the referee's? It seems pretty obvious from the calls I saw, even if I was a 49er's fan, I would have questioned? The Broncos just play off talent and fairness, we don't need to pay anyone off to get a place. If we can't get it by playing fair, then we just don't go to the playoffs. As long as the 49er's, Chiefs, and Chargers don't win, I don't care who else does at this point. The other 3 suck and don't deverse to win!

I am just wondering, why would the Niners try to pay a referee in order to get the call. Also Niners have 5 superbowl championship, if Montana had not got injured
they could have won & Superbowl...They are not only only a team of a decade, but the best Team ever....
I rst my case..Thank you, Have A Happy New Year...

What a way to give a young team confidence and something to build on! Excellent work Coach Nolan!
Thank-you Niners for another great win! Hopefully, a lot more next year. Gore is awesome! Happy New Year.
Now maybe the chefs can cook up a win in Indy, should be a good game.

Versus Denver, 49ers coach Mike Nolan got the team ready to play, away, in cold weather, against a great coach in Shanahan, and kicked butt. The refs' calls went both ways so they did not matter. With the Niner's draft options (9 in the first 4 rounds) $40m in cap room, we are going to build team of top line talent and depth. I predict a deep playoff experience for the Niners's young players next year.
