On a day when the Houston Texans were playing for pride and the Atlanta Falcons were playing for a playoff spot, who do you think played harder? If you guessed the Texans, you're correct, as they beat the Colts 27-24. If you guessed the Falcons, you haven't been paying attention, as they couldn't beat the Carolina Panthers, despite the fact that Panthers quarterback Chris Weinke only threw seven passes and wasn't even on the field during many plays, when Carolina ran the ball down the Falcons throat.
There's not much you can say about this game, except that it was pathetic. The Falcons players claimed last week that they love coach Jim Mora, Jr., but they didn't play like it. They didn't play like a team trying to save their coaches job. They didn't play like a team playing for pride. They didn't play like a team wanting to win. What's worse is that, with the Giants loss today, a win would have put the Falcons in the playoffs. Maybe it's better they didn't win, though, because the playoffs would have just been one more game for the team to insult the fans.
Thanks guys. Great effort. And now, for the phrase all too familiar in Atlanta: We'll get em next year.

How can you win running a 5 ft. 9 180 lb. running back on third and 1. We had a great big running back last three years and scored many touch downs in red zone.
Makes me sick to see that college option play over and over. Vick never throws down field more than onece or twice. He is so damn predictable.
What a bone head play on that 80 yd. tieing touchdown run to have our No. 12 commit a usless fowl "hands to the back" then next offensive play with clock running, catches a pass and was 12 incccccches from out of bounds and stopping clock. But no, the dumb ass stayed in bounds costing precious seconds.
How many long drives have falcons had called back from illegal hands to back.
Sickening.
Fire them all and stop with the excuses. Vick is never going to win a super bowl. He cannot see the field.

After seeing the highlight reels on television I can see the Falcons just simply self destructed by dropping passes and getting penalties on a scoring by the Falcons. Hope Arthur Blank has a suitable replacement for Jim E. Mora if he let go.

The question isn't whether Vick can get the ball to his receivers - his arm is tops, and his accuracy can be amazing. The real question is whether his receivers can get to the ball - as soon as they see him start to scramble, they quit on their routes and start looking for someone to block. OK, downfield blocking, great skill, but these guys need to remember that they're receivers, not linemen.
The guy the Falcons have really missed this year, a guy who probably makes as many big plays per touch as anyone, is Brian Finneran. Tall, good hands, will beat almost anyone on the fade, and isn't afraid to go across the middle.
So how about it, folks? Which team has done less with more this year - the Falcons or the Giants? Close call, isn't it?

Jim Mora Jr. is no more of a coach than his father was. Dan Reeves was more of a coach than both put together. At least he took the Falcons to the dance. As far as Vick is concerned I think he is a great player who is in need of reinventing himself. - The Falcons have always been known to put to much on their plate at one time. They need to meditate on this and learn to be of one mind.

No wonder Arthur looks blank. He's got to be wondering what the hell is going on. If a store manager at Home Depot ran the store like Mora runs the Falcon offense, Arthur wouldn't have 2 billion $.

You need a couple of yards in the red zone and you've got the biggest man in GA on your roster (Grady Jackson) what do you do? DON'T ASK GREG KNAPP he's taking a nap.

Vick is the Barry Bonds of the NFL...nothing but a LOSER that will NEVER win anything other than personal awards. He's NOT a TEAM player...he's a ME player.

Vick,Vick,Vick that's all Ihave been reading. YOu all cannot continue to blame this blown season on Michael Vick. He doesn't catch the ball, he doesn't play defense, he's not an offensive lineman. If Peyton Manning was the quarterback for the Falcons he would not have the same success he has had in Indy. Their are two critical area that can improved on with the organization for the to be successful. One is the coaching staff sucks and two the fans most people here are fair weather fans and not really true diehards. Look at the Raiders, their fans continue to support them even through the lett downs.I have been a fan since 1979 and will always support them. I love you Atlanta Falcons...

When Atlanta decided to give 100 million to a running back disguised as a quarteback, their fate was sealed. This man is an incredible runner, but quarterback he is not. This is a talent laden team that should be resting players because they've already clinched. I blame the owner an gm for the mistake they made when they took on the incredible commitment with Vick. Mike Vick is who he is. That works in college, not in the NFL.

The Falcons lost because Vick is not a championship quarterback...he has the skills, but not the leadership...
Championship-type QBs overcome everything (except a weak supporting cast and considering Vick's comments in the press, he is saying they have the horses)...

Until they get rid if the self-centered , egomanic of a Quaterback Michael Vick thie Atlanta franchise is doomed to medocrity!
Every coach that has had the reigns at Atlanta has supported, pampered , and promoted Michael Vick! What has Vick done for them. He bad mouths them and the team and eventually gets them fired.
Having great natural ability as Vick does does not translate into team success when the individual, like Vick, is so selfish, so self-centered, and so unwilling to be a team player!
How many years is it going to take before this Atlanta franchise realizes the only thing holding them back is MICHAEL VICK!
A new head coach and new coaching staff won't solve
the problem! the prob

The problem with the Falcons is Jim Mora, Jr. He may have been a good assistant, but he's not head coach material. Just because your dad is a head coach, that does not make you a head coach. That position requires great organizational skills, hiring competent assistant coaches and the ability to evaluate players, and motivate them to perform at their highest level. Blood lines alone do not make the coach.

The falcons problems are not just Vick. Although he hasn't matured like they thought. It runs from the coaches through the whole offense and the whole defense. They have talent but do not gel as a team, which is coaching and player confidence. Its time for a change. Let Moira and Vick go. Give Schaub a chance!

The only thing worse than these pathetic losers is how much they talk during the press conferences. All I ever hear them say is " We got to make plays " " We got to get the ball in the endzone " For a second, I thought the Falcons should be called the Giants, stop making excuses, THERE ARE NO EXCUSES, you get paid millions of dollars for what your suppose to do and that is perform, and the Falcons performance is absolutely pathetic. Mike Vick is NOT the problem, he has proven at times, he can win ( regardless of passing or running ), but its an entire team that has no idea what it is doing. THE FALCONS LOST 10 - 3, what does that mean, THAT MEANS THE FALCONS DID NOT SCORE A TOUCHDOWN, ITS THE WHOLE TEAM, ALL THE RECEIEVERS, ALL THE COACHES, THE OWNERS, HOW CAN YOU NOT CALL ONE PLAY AGAINST A MEDIOCARE PANTHERS TEAM WHICH LEADS TO A TOUCHDOWN? BUY THE WHOLE TEAM MUZZLES AND DONT LET THEM SPEAK, and BUY THEM A BOX OF NAPKINS FOR ALL THEIR WHINING AND CRYING.

The Falcons will never win a Superbowl with Michael Vick. He is nothing more than a running back and a big mouth. When the crowd boo'd him and he flipped them off, that really showed the lack of class this guy has. Those fans pay that big inflated salary and feed to his pathetic ego problem and he cant even show enough respect or appreciation to them and accept that its been a lousy year and partially his fault. What an asshole!!! He deserves nothing but a rotten season and hopefully for Atlantas sake they will realize that he too is a "cancer" and move on to a better leader and team player.

Hey It looks like Mike and T.O. could team up next year at the press confrence and both kick there coaches where it counts. If I was the coach I wouldn't say a word let Michael run the plays look at the films and decide who plays as well. as far as I am concerned these guys who speak up pointing their finger at the coaches and other team mates are as bad as the NBA run and gun style of basketball . might as well call it back yard football . Even those QB's who get sacked end up crying. Bring back the Days of Terry Bradshaw, Fran Tarkington, and or course Roger Stauback. and no I didn't forget Joe Kapp. Shoot Earl Campbell those are the guys that should of made the dollars and they never griped about " it was the coaches fault. Mike Vick I used to respect you but with this new attitude you got I hope Julious Peppers will run you down and beat your cry baby ass!!!! Peppers has more class than you.

There used to be an Atlanta Braves joke back in the day (pre Joe T. and Bobby C.)....it works well for the Falcons now: "I left 2 Falcons tickets in my car and somebody broke in it and left 2 more!!"
Get rid of Mora and Vick and get a real coach and put Schaub in....he deserves a chance after this season.
