Tonight's Monday night showdown pitting the Bears against the Rams has become much more important then it was before yesterday. Yes, it is important see if Rex can stop his madness. Yes, it is important see how well our defense is going to be without some of it's pro-bowlers. But tonight's game became much more important when the Saint's pummeled the Cowboys and the Seahawks took it in the rear by Leinart and friends. A win tonight coupled with the two losses yesterday would guarantee the Bears a first round bye and bring us within one game of wrapping up home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
I think tonight's game is going to be tougher then some may think because of well, lots of things. For one, the game is in a dome on the road. Two, we are going to be playing without Tommie Harris, Mike Brown, and possibly Nathan Vasher. Three, we have no idea what to expect from our QB.
Keys to Victory:
-Run the ball, run the ball, run the ball (St. Louis is 31rst against the run)
-Keep it simple for Rex (This means you Ron!)
-Tackle! We can not have Stephen Jackson running all over us
-Don't' give up big plays to the trio of St. Louis WR's
Final Score Prediction:
Bears 31
Rams 21

I agree that this could be a tougher game than what people think. Missing brown, harris and vasher hurts when your facing holt and bruce. Jackson is the straight ahead power runner we have problems with (actually having harris out might help with this, boone and scott because they aren't as quick might act as move immoveable object and not get trapped like harris) and we all know about rex, the noisy dome isn't going to help him at all.

Well, at least we're still going to be without Todd Johnson :). I see your logic with Harris being out. But I just don't see how it's possible for us to be better without him.
I think if Rex screws up this game. I'm done blaming him. I will lay into Ron Turner and possibly even Lovie!

I wouldn't say that overall we are better, but there are times tommie needs to cool it and just hold the line. Unforunately, quick one gap guys will make one stop for a loss and then give up to long gainers because they are getting trapped. Personally, I felt better about our run defense back when we had two big hogs like washington and traylor in the middle, no one ran up the middle on us. The defense that lovie left behind has the same problems stopping the run, too many light, fast d-linemen.

Agreed. I love Washington and Traylor. Remember when he ran like 63 yards before falling over on the fumble return? So close to a td...haha he should have lateraled it.

And let's not forget to blame angelo, I still say he is responsible for not benching rex already, he can't let go of his first round pick and I think everyone knows the second rex is benched it is done, barring injury he won't start for us again. good lord if we don't run the ball down the rams throats, lovie and turner should be fired, we had better do this, because if we don't the rams may do it to us.

YES! If we don't run for at least 150-200 yards, I will be pissed and will begin to question Lovie and Turner even more.
Yes, if this doesn't work for Rex. He's gone. Angelo needs to be blamed for letting this continue. Problem now he will have to admit to his very first two draft picks sSUCKING. Remember Michael Haynes was cut this year too. But grow a set and deal with it. I mean, all of Angelo's other draft picks have done quite well for us.

not to pat us on the back too much, but her• Clark must be a big part of this game plan versus a group of linebackers who don't match up well versus big, physical tight ends. He is a big target on third down. If Grossman continues to be obsessed with throwing the skinny post, at least throw it to a safe target over the middle. He is also a great option when Grossman is under pressure and needs to dump the ball off. Clark has not been a big part of the offense over the last couple of weeks, and that must change.
• When you break down Grossman on film the last couple of weeks, some major flaws and weaknesses are surfacing. He has a bad habit of not planting his back foot and stepping into his throws. He throws off his front foot too often, negatively affecting his velocity. Early in the season, he did a nice job of looking off defensive backs and freezing them before throwing to his target. Now he seems to be locking on to one target and it's easy for a defender to read Grossman's eyes. His lack of height is also really becoming an issue.
He is at his best when he can find throwing lanes through open areas, but right now he is trying to throw over defenders, leading to passes getting tipped a lot or sailing over receivers.
• It would not be shocking to see the Bears use some no-huddle looks to try to get Grossman into a flow. He likes the tempo of the no-huddle and it would allow him to just settle into a nice groove. The no-huddle also forces the undersized Rams defense to keep its base package on the field, potentially wearing it down.
e is some stuff from Scouts, Inc. I think this has been mentioned before by some of us.

I bet we see Brian Urlacher Blitz Mark Bulger more than usual, as he will pick up this Beat Up Bears Defense and just carry the Load himself!
On the Other hand, With a Good running game against a Poor Rams Run Defense, Should allow Sexy Rexy to come out of his Funk. At least it Better or he will be Grabbing some bench!!!
