As was well documented last night here in the FanHouse with video evidence, Joey Porter and Kellen Winslow are both getting "F"s in the category of "Works and Plays Well With Others." And while Winslow ended up looking like the idiot on the field last night, Porter took his turn after the game:

Good for Porter to call Toy "Soldja" Winslow out for the immature punk ass chump that he is. That cheap shot he gave Farrior earned him the crown for candy ass player of the year. I hope every team from this point forward puts a bounty on Winslows head each game.

I agree the ear rings are a nice touch, but the comment has nothing to do with sexual preference. It's like saying he's a "girl". It's not a cut on girls, just a cut on Winslow's manliness.

Joey may not always say the right thing,but who would you rather have on your team,Porter or Winslow.............?I thought so.Also those earings those guys where,I just hope they lose one some day and I find it.I could live pretty good on what one of them is worth.I could probably afford to go to a Steeler game and buy some beer too.
I think people should not make such a big deal about joey's comments. The remarks where not made aainst homosexuals but against Winslow and his very very unsportsman like conduct. " cough" cheap shot "cough"
Unfortunately many people use that slur without seriously considering it's connotations and that it is very defamatory towards gay people, whether the person meant it in that manner or not. I agree that Porter wasn't trying to call Winslow "gay" per se, but using that slur is a negative towards gay people nonetheless and as much as I love Porter, he needs to be more respectful and mature. I'm very disappointed in him.
I second Mai Wen, It's insulting, highly insulting to gay people to use a derogatory term for gay people as an insult. It's very sad since Porter has been my favorite player for some time. I think it says a lot about society that this term is used this way. I don't know if Porter is actively homophobic, but the casual use of such language is highly disrespectful and he should apologize for it, not apologize to Winslow, though.
I agree with Bob. "Fag" isn't even really a derogatory gay term anymore, it is more of a cut on someone's masculinity. Winslow has come back and called Joey "classless." What does a guy taking cheap shots know about class to begin with?
Don't mess with Joey Porter. He was SI's cover man for meanest player in the NFL/voted 2nd dirtiest player in the NFL for a reason. If Winslow can't handle some words, well then he shouldn't be even making attempts at cheap shots.
BTW, no one, not even the NFL, mentions that Winslow's hit was helmet-to-helmet. It wasn't horrible, but he should be fined. He won't be fined for endangering Farrior's life, but Porter will be fined for hurting people's feelings. How does THAT make sense?

Just so everyone knows, "fag" is a still a hateful word used against gay men, it happens to me, it happens to a lot people. Famous people have a responsibility not to encourage hate speach. A nominal fine is an appropriate response.
Right thinking gay men like me realize that our U.S. Constitution guarantees us many things.....but protection from being offended is NOT one of them. You can't legislate people into being nice; and you can't fine people into being nice. I don't like the word Fag as a cut on people any more than people like the oh-so-dreaded-and-feared "N" word. But, no one ever told me that I'd go through life without being offended. It's part of life. Fining Joey doesn't teach him, or anyone else, anything. I just think people need to be a little less senstive about everything.

I'm not a fan of Kellen Winslow, and the things that people say about him are for the most part true...you know about him bein a young punk who thinks he's bigger and more important than he really is to the game. However, Joey Porter is a loud mouth, ignorant ass man. He's the defensive Terrel Owens. Dude just loves to have the attention on him, and when he doesn't have it, he's gotta do something stupid or same somthing stupid, like this, in order to pull it back.

I find it hard to believe that people really don't see the error in Porter's ways. Every game is a highlight film of his expertise in vulgarity. Players like Porter and Winslow need to spend more time watching class acts like L. Tomlinson and R. Bush, class acts that back up all of their hype. Neither player (Porter, Winslow) live up to their hype. And, what's with the once respectful Dan Rooney, how can he support this behavior. Your choice of language brings to light your mentality level.
